Train Lodge Amsterdam: an affordable and special hostel in a train

Train Lodge Amsterdam operated in Zurich years ago

Train Lodge Amsterdam is a truly unique hostel that you'll probably want to trade your bed for for a night. You're sleeping on a train, how cool is that? Not long ago, these sleeper cars ran from Zurich to Rome and back, but now they're located next to Sloterdijk Station. Sleeping on a night train might sound wonderful, but it's only when it's standing still that you truly enjoy it. That's why we decided to leave the train stationary for now and turn it into a hostel.

Train Lodge Amsterdam FOR THE ULTIMATE NIGHT TRAIN EXPERIENCE

Train Lodge Amsterdam has a total of 132 beds spread across 44 compartments. Each compartment features three bunk beds that you can share with strangers or your own entourage. Time for a pajama party! The interior is relatively similar to the night trains you might remember from a trip abroad. Lots of wood and only the bare essentials like a night light, storage compartment, and in this case, a soft mattress and clean linens, Wi-Fi, and breakfast.
