Amsterdam East has a new temporary hotspot. In part of Alex + Pinard, you will now find Tiny Danser Amsterdam. A pop-up restaurant that, according to them, serves anti-traditional Italian dishes that are finger-licking good.
Atmosphere and interior at Tiny Danser Amsterdam
Tiny Danser Amsterdam is the kind of place you want to stay. The staff is amazing—just like at Alex + Pinard, of course—and knowledgeable about everything they serve. They do this very informally, should you have that impression. Tiny Danser is indeed anti-traditional.
Even though Tiny Danser is a pop-up, the Australian owners – also known as Box Sociaal in the Plantagebuurt and the Jordaan – hope to attract enough customers to make it a permanent fixture. Yet another reason to visit this place more than once.

Dishes and menu at Tiny Danser
Ignoring traditions, Tiny Danser serves the tastiest Italian dishes, but with its own twist. Because, as the owners say, that’s what our country is known for. Dutch cuisine is not very popular (except for the bitterballen), so Dutch restaurants are all too eager to adopt classics from other European countries with a Dutch twist.
On the menu – prepared by Riccardo Russo, known from Bar Centraal – you’ll find ravioli filled with roasted potatoes, cacio e pepe, and fig leaf oil, to name a few dishes. The wine list, as is the extensive cocktail menu, is also quirky (what else would you expect from a place like Alex + Pinard?).

Tiny Danser is perfect for a date night
Date night planned? Then Tiny Danser is your spot. Besides delicious Italian dining, you’ll stay here until the early or late hours, depending on how you see it. So, if you can’t get enough of each other, the bartender will keep serving the best cocktails, wines, and Guinness (as the owner of Tiny Danser is reportedly a big fan).
