Top of the notch design and art at hotel The Thief in Oslo
Jay Z, Queen B, Rihanna and more guys of this caliber have slept at this almost 5 star hotel. And ‘If it’s good enough for Riri it’s good enough for me’.
Well.. In the end Oslo is expensive enough so I prefer the cheapest hotel room that starts at 2200 Kroners. Which is around 220 euros. And yes I hear you, it is still a bit expensive but you’ll get a lot in return. The Thief was rated number 1 as Tripadvisor Travelers Choice 2014 of Oslo. Secondly there’s the free entrance to the beautiful and serene spa. We can spend a while in there yes…
Next to that you’re in the heart of the most bustling and trendy neighborhood of Olso, Tjuvholmen.
Visit this hip spot for lunch to eat typical local dishes served with a nowadays twist. Or just enjoy a coffee or a cocktail. In summer on the rooftop of course. Where a dj is playing tunes on warm nights. Now how cool are ya feeling now…
And this art collection! Really stunning and interesting photos and other contemporary art works can be found throughout the whole building. Insurance worth: a tiny 4 million euros ($$$$). The Andy Warhol original has “selfie” written all over it. Just like the dirty-talk art work of Fiona Banner. Oh là là, those lines…
And for all you connoisseurs out there I’ll also mention Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake. What’s also awesome is that as one of the hotel guests you will be given free entrance to next door’s Astrup Fearnley Museum. And if you add the twice a month unplugged showcases of bands and artists we can really say there’s no lack of art and culture here at The Thief!
