The Musket Room, Nolita, New York: new top restaurant in Manhattan

The Musket Room is one of Nolita’s top new restaurants.

We’re meeting friends from Holland for dinner tonight, so I wanted to eat at some place nice. I read a lot of good things about The Musket Room so it has been on my to-go list for a while now. They just opened earlier this year in Nolita and actually already received a Michelin star this month (October, 2013)!

When entering I’m surprised it’s this quiet. Aren’t all new restaurants in New York “hot as hell”? And super busy? I don’t understand. It’s such a beautiful place. The interior is so rustic and the back room has a view on the garden. Would be just perfect if they could make this a terrace next summer. It’s a romantic spot and perfect for a cozy dinner with the lover or friends. And the food! I order the tofu gnocchi. I would kill for that recipe. Sort of speak. Perfect soft super tender tofu dumplings mixed with a bit crunchy fresh Oyster mushrooms. The rest of the dishes are also fantastic according to the rest. Ok, so it’s not cheap, let’s say highly priced, but in my opinion it is definitely worth it.

But guys, just one thing. Would it be possible to have at least 1 bottle of wine on the menu for a decent price? If they have it at other places you can do it also, you lovely people from The Musket Room.

I hope it was because it was a Tuesday night. Because with such good food and this amazing service this place deserves to be packed with people every night.
