The Athletic Club, Zuidas: Get Back in Shape!

Getting fit and toned at the Zuidas at The Athletic Club.

A couple of months ago a 2nd location of The Athletic Club has been opened. They already have a sports club at the Vondelpark, but now finally another location on the Zuidas. Great location for all you workaholics out there as it’s located right in the heart of this business center. I guess lack of time isn’t an excuse anymore…

You will immediately notice that this is a low-key but also quite luxurious gym. There’s a small sauna, soft towels and you can try all the Kiehl’s and Aesop products your body needs. Members get complementary fresh fruits and breakfast.
The dimmed lighting and warm colors make that we look just a little bit better than in most other gyms.

I’m going to try out a personal training with Chris today. And oh my… Who wouldn’t want arms like that?
What to expect with a personal training? Well first of all, and I quote, “Can’t does not exists here”. Hmm, I guess I have to watch what I say here…
Goals are stabilization endurance, muscle growth and strength behind the muscles.
You start with several tests to see what you can handle and which exercises you personally need to get ‘better, faster and stronger’.
The biggest eye-opener for me was that I thought I was doing great and in a sense I was. I mean, flexibility apparently is fine, my lower part and core are quite ok, but there’s a lot of room for improvement as for technique.

You’re more a class type of person? Check out their yoga, Pilates or spinning classes. Or try out the boot camp.

Need to get back on track?
It’s still possible to try the ‘Back in Shape Winter Deal’! This will get you:
– 3 x personal training (1 hr)
– 1 month membership
– application fee
Instead of € 380 it’s now € 149.

A year-membership costs € 76 per month.
