Enjoying a drink or a bite to eat on a terrace in Amsterdam West? These are the best terraces to visit in 2026.

Do you fancy going to a nice terrace in Amsterdam West? Amsterdam west This might just be the district with the most diverse types of patios! From patios on the water to large patios in the park. I've compiled a list of the different neighborhoods for you: The Bars, Westerpark and more. Enjoy the tips with old favorites and new best terraces in Amsterdam West!

Straight from the airport to this little place to taste soup dumplings and so much more! That's what I call a soft landing 😉 <3

In Taipei, you go to a Soy Milk Shop for breakfast. Warm soy milk to eat in a bowl, and steam baskets with the tastiest dumplings and baozi. You can really wake me up for this kind of breakfast. These local breakfast spots come in all shapes and sizes, from Michelin-recommended spots to hole-in-the-wall stalls.

Most soy milk shops open early (and sometimes even 24 hours a day), and these are the dishes you want to try:
🥄 Warm soy milk
🥢 Soup dumplings (you can often choose between pork and veggies)
🥢 Pork baozi
🥢 Youtiao (油條 - a kind of fried donut stick)
🥢 Youtiao (油條) w/ pork floss & rice
🥢 Turnip cake
🥢 Chives pancake
🥢 Scallion pancake

TIP: Sharing is a good idea to taste as much as possible, because the portions are (often) large.

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away.

During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies, where there is plenty to do.

• A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea.

· Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round.

· Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting.

Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold right now, but there is plenty to do.

• The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!).

Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure.

After its success in East, Le French Café has now also arrived in West, and that promises something. On Admiraal de Ruijterweg, you can enjoy French bistro classics, a good drinks menu, and above all: a sunny terrace where you can easily linger. Brunch, drinks, or dinner, everything is perfect here. From eggs Benedict to fruits de mer and a glass of (natural) wine.

Café Wilhelmina

From the owners of Café Binnenvisser, Café Wilhelmina has now opened in Oud-West, and that automatically means you're in good hands. You can visit all day long: from a coffee in the morning to lunch, drinks, and dinner later in the day. The menu is small but excellent, with dishes perfect for sharing. Reservations aren't accepted for lunch, so just sit down on the terrace and be amazed by what's on offer.

Café Vita Lente

On the always bustling Jan Pieter Heijestraat, you'll find Café Vita Lente, a new spot especially for cheese lovers. On the terrace, you can order a good glass of wine and create your own cheese board, just the way you like it. Add some charcuterie, and you've got the perfect drink in the sun. It's also a great place for coffee, sandwiches, and snacks.

Bonburger

What started with sold-out pop-ups has grown into Bon Burger, a permanent spot on Jacob van Lennepkade. The terrace is literally on the water and on the sunny side of the canal, making it easy to linger for hours.

Jinja Asian Kitchen & Bar

The atmosphere inside Jinja Asian Kitchen & Bar is almost like a night out, with a stylish interior and a vibrant vibe that immediately catches your eye. The menu features Asian dishes with a modern twist, and you can also opt for a teppanyaki dinner. In good weather, you can enjoy drinks or dinner on the terrace with a cocktail or sake. It's the kind of place where you know you'll be back after just one visit, if only for the vibe.

In De Baarsjes, you'll find Wolf & Beer, a neighborhood café where you can enjoy everything from breakfast and lunch to dinner, and of course, a good glass of beer. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a classic pub, but with a modern twist. The terrace is a great spot for a morning coffee or a drink later in the day.

The Japanese West

For Japanese dishes to share, we always go to De Japanner West. This izakaya, the first of its kind in Amsterdam, is known for its finger food like beef tataki, gyoza, and sushi rolls. In summer, the sunny terrace is the perfect spot for a long lunch or drinks with friends, while in winter, you can sit comfortably inside.

On the Westergasterrein, you'll find Cantine de Caron with a sunny terrace. The large terrace offers plenty of space in the shade or sun, perfect for a long lunch with wine or a leisurely dinner with friends. The menu features classic French cuisine, such as entrecôte, ratatouille, or a delicious terrine, and the interior boasts a charming, industrial-style décor.

Good news for bread lovers: you'll find two Bakery Louf locations in Amsterdam-West. The first is on Bilderdijkstraat, where you can enjoy people-watching on the terrace with a coffee and a sandwich made with their famous sourdough bread. The second is near Westerpark, where you can also enjoy a relaxing breakfast or lunch. Both spots are all about truly good bread—and believe us, you'll want to make the detour.
