The Museum of Bags and Purses Amsterdam is located in a beautiful canal house build in 1664 at the Herengracht in the centre of Amsterdam. The Museum of Bags and Purses Amsterdam is founded by Hendrikje Ivo, a lady who collected bags for 35 years. The Museum of Bags and Purses Amsterdam now has a collection of more than 4000 bags, purses, trunks, pouches, cases and  accessories.The collection covers bags dating from the dating from the late Middle Ages until today.A unique collection and the Museum of Bags and Purses Amsterdam is the largest of its kind in the world. There are exhibitions of contemporary bag designers from the Netherlands and overseas. Check out the website for an up to date agenda. The museum of Bags and Purses Amsterdam is a perfect day out for mothers and daughters, nieces and aunts or just with your friends. In the summer you can enjoy a drink in the lovely courtyard garden. Also very special: book a high tea and enjoy the best sweet and savoury bites. You can book afternoon tea for a minimum of two people.
