Sunday 7: Eva Pleeva aka the toilet lady at Club Canvas

4 January 2015

7 questions to Eva Pleeva of Club Pipi!

In Sunday 7 we tell the stories of unique Amsterdam people.Who went to Canvas op de 7e before (and then in the weekend late at night) must have met her: Eva Pleeva (aka Eva van Halewijn). She’s the toilet lady of the WC at Canvas, a toilet area beter known as Club Pipi. For the Volkshotel that opened the doors in 2014 she even designed a room called Danny the Deer (a room you can book at the hotel!).

Most beautiful spot in Amsterdam

“The Oude Waal.”

Favourite neighbourhood?

” The Nieuwmarkt / Lastage area. It’s cosy and so beautiful. My favourite addresses there are Ocha a small Thai restaurant at the Binnen Bantammmerstraat 2. The Volendammer seafood store at the Zeedijk is also very good. Their ‘Kibbeling’ is too die for!”

Waterlooplein and Noordermarkt, it’s a hell of a job to search for cool stuff in the pile of vintage clothes but when you find a gem it’s a great bargain.”

Fav restaurants

Bern (for the best cheese and meat fondue), Kilimanjaro and the Engelbewaarder.”

Must taste!

“I’m a part time vegetarian, but when I go out for dinner I like to eat steak. Rosa &Rita close to Roest is one of my fav places to eat it.”

“The Andaman islands in Thailand, google it! Sooo beautiful :)!”

Hidden gem

“The grass field behind the Hortus Botanicus.”
