9 November 2014

7 questions for Ellis Clay: the new editor of Your Little Black Book!

Cool news: Ellis is the newest editor of Your Little Black Book. She’s going to help Anne to blog about the best hotspots in town.

Ellis (27): “I call myself ‘a writer to be’: currently I’m working on my first novel, but I still have to learn the tricks of the trade. Furthermore, I have a coaching and counselling office for students, I’m a freelance copywriter and I blog for Your Little Black Book. So, it’s fair to say language is my passion. I’m also a list-girl, a reader, music maker and kitchen princes.”

Sunday 7 – Seven questions for Ellis Clay

Perfect Sunday
“On Sunday I prefer to go to the Vondelpark with a newspaper and coffee. I usually listen to some music while I walk around or sit down on one of the benched. Love it!”

Most beautiful spot
“I recently discovered a very nice part of Amsterdam-North. A beautiful area nearby the North Holland Canal. You’ll find amazing houses there next to the water, so guess I see myself living there with a boot next to my front door.”

Favourite Neighbourhood
“The neighbourhood I’m living in, the Helmersbuurt, is my absolute favourite. I have the Overtoom and Kinkerstraat around the corner and yet the area is really quiet. Within walking distance there’s a really good Thai restaurant where I often go to eat or takeaway: the Golden Brown. I furthermore go to Following Lucy when I’m looking for a new outfit. And De Hallen is obviously a super fun spot to go during the weekend.”

Coffee spot
“Honestly, I’m not easy when it concerns coffee. I have to say no to caffeine, milk and soy. And still, I love coffee! So, I usually order a decaf latte with rice or goat milk. And lucky, this is what I can get at Two For Joy on the Haarlemmerstraat.”

Favourite restaurants
“Somethings a girl just wants pizza! I recommend Sotto on the Amstelveenseweg. Furthermore you should go to Op de Tuinen in the Pijp, where they serve delicious organic food. And go to Mossel and Gin in the Westerpark for… mussels!”

Nom Nom Nom!
“Sushi is one of the few dishes I can’t get enough off. You’ll find the bést sushi in town at Kagetsu in the Hartenstraat.”

Food Travel…
“Not so long ago I went to Antwerp with my sister. You’ll find Appelmans there, a really trendy brasserie where you can eat traditional Belgian food and drink réally good cocktails!”
