7 questions to Daan Faber of Mister Kitchen
Have you met Daan Faber? He’s a true foodie, and this can be seen in his work. As a co-owner of Mister Kitchen he organises the successful foodtruck festival ”Rollende Keukens”. Maybe you already knew him from his columns in Delicious magazine. And have you ever tried Butch&Dutch sausages, Rabarcello Liquor or Chia loves Fruit jams? These tasty products are created by Mister Kitchen and can be bought in the supermarket! This week in Sunday 7 he shares his own favourite Amsterdam hotspots.

My ideal Sunday..
“For the record: visiting a relevant museum or going to an award winning movie or going for a long walk. Afterwards drinking good wine with friends. Off the record: On the couch with my cat, love and TV series. Here are my three free tips if you’re looking for some original TV series: Il Capo dei Capi, Happy Valley and Top of the Lake.
Best coffee in Amsterdam..
“De Espressofabriek is situated next to our office. Rick, the owner, imports, burns and makes the best coffee in Mokum ( = other name for Amsterdam). I always order the flat white”.
Drinks
“A quick beer in a bar in De Pijp, together with friends/fathers who have a busy schedule”.
Bucket List
”Encourage all consumers to quit eating endangered fish species, such as big tuna (blue AND yellowfin at Marqt and Landmarkt!!) or eel. For real this time! We can’t even breed these species properly yet. And actually it is already too late for that.”
My three favourite restaurants are….
“Rijsel at Marcusstraat, District 5 at van der Helstplein and Café De Klepel op de Prinsenstraat.”
Shopping
“Angel Agudo on the opposite of Sarphatipark. Gay fashion for straight men: really nice brands and a nice, professional owner”.
Things I still want to do in Amsterdam..
“Finally use my museum year-membership and visit all the museums. Hopefully I will find some time for that in the future.”
