FollowIf you're in Tokyo, you probably eat sushi every day. And what could be better than sitting among locals at a sushi restaurant to enjoy the best sushi? A tip from a local we spoke to on the street led us to Sushi Zanmai in the Shinjuku district. TokyoYet another spot that looks anything but exciting, but serves truly delicious food. At Sushi Zanmai, the best place to sit is at the bar, where the chefs are busy preparing your custom-made sushi. They greet all guests who enter enthusiastically with "Irasshaimase!"; WELCOME!

I've eaten a lot of sushi in my life, but this is one of the best I've ever had. The Chefs at Sushi Zanmai in Tokyo We've already added wasabi to the rice, which really enhanced the flavor. We shared a delicious platter with various types of tuna nigiri. Each piece features a different cut of tuna, which comes fresh daily from the famous Tsukiji fish market. The fatty tuna is so delicious! It literally melts in your mouth. Order some miso soup and a Japanese beer, and your evening is complete!
