I hear you thinking...what does the island have Tenerife What about stargazing? You might be surprised, but Tenerife, along with La Palma, Chile, and Hawaii, has the best sky for an observatory. The Canary Islands Astrophysics Institute is located in Teide National Park, at an altitude of 2390 meters. This is a star-observing center and the place where the sun is studied.
Are you into the mysteries of the cosmos? Then you'll be very interested in visiting the institute, where you'll learn about the workings of a telescope and astronomy. Prefer to enjoy the outdoors with a telescope? During the Stargazing Tour, an astrology specialist will share their knowledge with you.
See the most extraordinary stars through a telescope. Did you know there are red and blue stars? The red stars are dying, and the blue stars are younger… And a shooting star is actually dust falling so quickly that it heats up and glows. Oh, and there are 200 trillion stars per galaxy! I'm not saying you'll learn everything during a stargazing session, but you'll get a head start :-)
