Recipe: delicious savory mashed potato pie with fennel

When I think of mashed potatoes, I think of winter stews like endive or kale. But there are so many different kinds, and you can make endless variations with mashed potatoes. the Stamppot Bible Carrera Publishers offers over 200 different recipes. Recipe: fennel mash pie

You need:
1 kg floury potatoes
400 g fennel
1 small yellow bell pepper
1 thin leek
250 g walnuts,
Hazelnuts and almonds
3 eggs
100 ml of whole milk
Salted butter
Salt and pepper

Fennel mash pie recipe: How to make it

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Peel and wash the potatoes, remove the seeds, and cut them into quarters. Boil the potatoes in water for 15 to 20 minutes until tender.
  3. Wash the fennel and quarter it. Remove the hard core and finely chop the fennel. Cook the fennel for 3 to 4 minutes in a pan of water with a knob of salted butter.
  4. Drain the potatoes and mash them with the whole milk and a knob of salted butter. Stir in the fennel and season with salt and pepper. Let the mash cool.
  5. Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds, and thinly slice the pepper. Wash the leek (use only the white part) and slice it into thin rings. Finely chop the mixed nuts.
  6. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and add the mashed potatoes and pepper strips, mixing well.
  7. Spoon the mashed potatoes into the pie dish and smooth the top. Sprinkle with the chopped nuts. Place the mashed potatoes in the center of the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Cut the cake into slices and serve warm.
