Cape
We're looking forward to dancing with our feet in the sand at KAAP city beach this summer. How do you get there? If you head towards Haddock on Zeeburg (also a great beachy spot), you'll drive a bit further to the very tip of the island. There, with a cold drink in hand and your feet in the sand, you can enjoy rugged views over the water. Swimming isn't possible, but it's definitely a wonderful place to be!

Have lunch at the colorful picnic tables, sunbathe on the beach, swim in the IJ, and listen to live music on weekends. And don't you think the ferry to Noord is such a refreshing breath of fresh air that it feels like a day trip?

Amstelkwartier
This remains one of my favorites, where you can sit comfortably with a view of the boats sailing by on the Amstel River. Go early for a good spot on the grass, as this spot is becoming increasingly popular. Tip: bring a blanket with a plastic backing, as there's a lot of swan poop in the grass... the only downside here.
BeachSouth
A wonderful spot on the water near the RAI. Regular drinks on Fridays, but also ideal for relaxing on one of the beach loungers or at the tables by the water during the week or on the weekend.

Sloterplas
{Update June 2025} Please note: the water quality in the Sloterplas will be very poor in 2025 and it is not recommended to swim there this summer. Therefore, always observe the aforementioned Zwemwater.nl keep an eye out for updates.
These days, you can also relax on the beach at Sloterplas. Swimming is unfortunately not recommended this summer. Recently, Sloterplas has also been home to some lovely restaurants and cafes, such as Boothuis, and Hotel Buiten is always a pleasant place to relax. Enjoy lunch, sunbathe, or even go stand-up paddleboarding and canoeing on Sloterplas.
East Bank, Amsterdam – amsterdam.nl
IJburg
By tram or bike, IJburg beach is a wonderful place to relax in good weather. After a day at the beach, relax at De Japanner Strandeiland.
Gaasperplas
Also on the south bank of Gaasperpark is a wonderful sandy beach where you can easily spend the whole day. Want to end your day with a barbecue? Yes, you can at the Gaasperplas! It's also the perfect beach for a day of water fun with the kids.

Hotel Outside
Hotel Buiten has a city beach in Amsterdam West near the Sloterplas lake. Enjoy the long summer evenings here with a craft beer and your best friends, watch the sunset, and your evening can begin!
