Special activities with animals that you need to experience

Animals are interesting creatures, they give you a feeling of home, make you comfortable and are part of society and our daily life. There are several initiatives for animal lovers who like to relax during special activities with animals. From yoga with goats to cuddle with cows and to walking with alpacas!

5 X relax with these special activities with animals

Walking with alpacas: welcome to the world of alpacas! At Alpacaoord in Drenthe you can apply for different workshops and walks. Do you have an alpaca yourself? Then you can go to a workshop to get to know your alpaca. Don’t have an alpaca but are you interested in a walk? Then apply for one of the walks through the woods, where you will walk for a couple of hours with 2-5 alpaca’s.

Yoga with goats: By touching an animal, the so-called hug hormon that relaxes your body gets active. At goat farm Ridammerhoeve in the Amsterdam Bos you can take part of yoga with goats every Saturday and Sunday. Yoga for an hour with curious and playful goats and enjoy a freshly made cake at the end.

Bijzondere activiteiten met dieren

Cuddle with cows: go back to basics at Zorgboerderij Hof Noord Empe. This farm is runned by a family with a love for animals. Here you can go to the workshop “agricultural cultural goods” where you can cuddle with cows for 3 hours. This workshop brings so much more than just enjoying a warm cow body. Sleep problems are solved and people with ADHD get calm. Nice!

Drink coffee with cats: Do you have roommates who are allergic for cats, or no time to take care of him? Then go to a cats cafe. There are so many today. Think of Catscafé Kopjes in Amsterdam, Catscafé Op z’n Kop in Groningen, Jippies Catscafé in Haarlem and Coco Cats & Coffee in Amersfoort.

Pig massaging: In Het Beloofde Varkensland in Amstelveen you can massage pigs, where you’re not only getting calm, but also the pig. Owner Dafne Westerhof started massaging a pig that was saved from a large-scale bio-industry. It was a nervous and neurotic animal, which became more relaxing from the massages. Better said, relax!
