Sir Hummus Amsterdam: delicious hummus in De Pijp

3 August 2015

hummus heaven in De Pijp: Sir Hummus Amsterdam

Sir Hummus in Amsterdam has the best hummus I ever had! I thought nothing  could beat the hummus at Dubai hotspot Zareeb. But Sir Hummus: you share a good first at my favourite hummus list ;-)

Sir Hummus at De Pijp serves hummus and hummus only. Je can choose three variants: plain vegan, hummus with egg and hummus with beef. I went for the hummus with egg and Anne choose the hummus with beef. They were both delicious! With the hummus we got a small beetroot salad and warm pita breads. The hummus was warm, creamy and poured over with nice spices and oil. You will eat the hummus as a whole meal here and you will get a plate full. I love it!

Sir Hummus never uses questionable ingredients or preservatives in its Hummus. The making off the hummus is a 24 hour proces and is made with lots of love by the brothers Guy and Dori and Guy’s girlfriend Lior. Their love for hummus started at an early age in a small village close to Jerusalem. Were they always went in the weekends and eat freshly made and warm hummus. Years later they moved for study to Amsterdam and now they are the proud owners of Sir Hummus!

Interieur at Sir hummus amsterdam

Sir Hummus is located at the Van der Helstplein in De Pijp. On the square you will notice Sir Hummus immediately by his clear blue color. The interior has furthermore a vintage look. Old vintage furniture everywhere! They made wooden benches on the wall and there are standing old school chairs at the tables. Gives a cool, homey atmosphere. Nice!
