First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.

This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.

This is the coolest new hotel for a night away! Meet @viaantwerp, Antwerp's newest boutique hotel on the border of Zurenborg and Borgerhout (yep, voted the 2nd coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out).
I recently stayed at this gem, and it truly has it all: a lively bar with a cozy atmosphere, walls adorned with creative art, beautiful, bright rooms, and it's within walking distance of great hotspots. And I haven't even mentioned @mea.antwerp! The delightful restaurant, helmed by a chef who previously worked at The Palomar in London. If you know, you know!

Protogenous Street: If you're looking for vintage clothing and accessories, you should head to Protogenous Street. This "new" and especially hip neighborhood is home to the best vintage stores. Think high-waisted swimsuits, Levi's shorts, and vintage designer items, as well as antiques and furniture. Between shopping trips, you can relax with a cup of coffee or a healthy lunch at the small bars.

Ermou: The shopping street and most central in Athens is Ermou. Here you'll find well-known stores like Zara, H&M, Adidas, and Forever 21, as well as many Greek chains where you might find some beautiful items that will make everyone at home jealous.

Monastiráki Flea Market: A bit touristy, or rather, very touristy, but still fun to wander through. Wander the streets and try to spot the gems amidst the hustle and bustle. Shop here for handmade genuine leather shoes and bags at affordable prices, as well as trinkets and souvenirs to take home.

Antique Streets and Avyssinias Square: When you walk through Flea Market Monastiráki it is a must to walk into the small side streets to have a look at the small antique shops and hidden coffee spots like TAFOn Sundays, Avyssinias Square hosts a large vintage/antique market where you can find absolutely anything, from velvet chairs to ancient Greek paintings and silver jewelry. A must-visit!

Patriarchou Loakim: The more expensive shopping street in Athens, where you won't just find designer shops, is Patriarchou Loakim. This long street also boasts small Greek shops, bars, and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat. Incidentally, you're likely to run into some Greek celebrities on this street, if you're aware of them ;-).

Retrosexual vintage shop: Trust us when we say this is a place you'll want to shop in Athens. If you love retro furniture, accessories, and sunglasses, you'll be amazed by this vintage store. You'll never want to leave. Wherever you look, you'll want everything. I managed to find a pair of sunglasses here in five minutes, and I regret not picking up three more.

The most beautiful furniture, accessories, and other must-haves are displayed outside and can be spotted from miles away. It'll make you walk faster. Guadeloupe: Guadeloupe is a vintage and secondhand store where you can shop for items from the 60s to the 90s. The tropical wallpaper, numerous plants, and wooden DIY lamps create a beachy vibe, making shopping even more enjoyable. You'll see many locals shopping here.

7th Thought: 7th Thought is a super fun concept store and coffee/brunch spot all rolled into one. On the ground floor, you can enjoy your early morning coffee with your dog (yes, pet-friendly), and on the first floor, you can browse the most beautiful Greek items.

Kilo-Shop: Athens is also a great place to shop for vintage kilos. Kilo-Shop is one of the most famous vintage stores in Athens and a favorite among young locals. From vintage Adidas to denim pantsuits, retro sunglasses, and floral dresses, you won't leave empty-handed.

Paraphernalia: Paraphernalia is a design and lifestyle store in Athens where you'll find not only clothing and accessories from cool, modern brands, but also jewelry, furniture, and even lamps for your home. The store has a Scandinavian vibe, and we still have a soft spot for that.

ERGON: One of our favorite restaurants in Athens is ERGON. It's a gastrobar across from the Electra Metropolis Hotel where you can enjoy the most delicious feta spread and octopus. You can also buy a wide variety of Greek delicacies here, all sourced from Greece. They make great souvenirs! Think olive oil, feta, herbs, nuts, and well, just about everything Greece has to offer.

Graffiti: Another great place to shop in Athens. Graffito is Athens' very first concept store and has been called the Colette of Paris (which is unfortunately closing!) and the Dover Street market of London. In its 450 m² space, you can shop for the coolest items from the most unique designers and brands, and enjoy a cup of coffee and a croissant or a healthy lunch. Definitely worth a visit if you love scarves from Bali and Thailand, as well as scented candles from Greece and fashion items from French designers.
