FollowThe best news to start 2021 with. On January 1st, Schotsheuvel Amsterdam opened its doors after months of renovations. From the team behind Wijmpje Beukers in De Pijp , so you know the atmosphere is guaranteed to be great. Schotsheuvel Amsterdam is an accessible eatery where everyone should feel at home. For now it's a takeaway concept, but you can bet the guys are ready to hit the ground running as soon as the hospitality industry is allowed to open for real again.
I can't wait to experience Schotsheuvel. Of course, I've already spoken to the team at length, and in this new blog post, I'll tell you what to expect.
The interior is warm and cozy. Exactly how you would want to see it in a pub. With beautiful Art Deco details, wooden furniture, and a nod on the wall to Ruinart , the owners Maarten and Jordy's favorite champagne. The bar immediately catches the eye as you enter, and there is also space for a lovely terrace when the weather is nice. The patio heaters are already hanging ready, in any case!
Schotsheuvel Amsterdam is now open as a delicatessen. The menu features dishes that you can take away at any time of day and only need to warm up at home when you eat. Think of dishes like a game stew and a truffle risotto. They are now open for takeaway from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
After the restaurant in De Pijp, it is Amsterdam Oud Zuid's turn for this new gem. Eetcafé Schotsheuvel is located on the corner of Barnstraat and Valeriusstraat, streets that run parallel to Cornelis Schuytstraat. If you are heading to the Zuidermarkt there on a Saturday morning, for example, Schotsheuvel will soon be the place to go for a delicious lunch or enjoy a cup of coffee with a tasty piece of cake in the sunshine.
When we can visit restaurants again, I'll give you a detailed update on the "real" menu at Schotsheuvel Amsterdam and tell you all about the atmosphere!
