Salmuera Amsterdam is the new restaurant hotspot on the Rozengracht! In the fun The building that previously housed Chow, among others, is now the perfect place for an evening of dining with friends or your partner. Enjoy bar bites to share and cocktails in the bar area, and one delicious course after another in the restaurant area overlooking the kitchen. Salmuera offers Argentinian cuisine with a modern twist. Featuring plenty of grilled meats, as well as a ceviche bar!
Shortly after the opening, my sweetheart and I went to Salmuera for dinner. The cocktail we had as an aperitif was so good that, for the first time in Amsterdam, we spent an entire evening drinking nothing but cocktails with dinner. It's something I often do in cities like New York or London, but somehow never get around to in Amsterdam. But... Salmuera has such a great vibe. It's just perfect!
Curious where the name Salmuera comes from? Salmuera is used in Argentinian cuisine to keep grilled meat juicy and flavorful. Salmuera is made with water, salt, garlic, rosemary, and bay leaf. You have to try it! I really enjoyed it on my steak. The suckling pig from the Asado grill is also highly recommended. It's incredibly beautiful and very flavorful! Salmuera is the only restaurant in the Netherlands with a charcoal Asado grill. So, in that respect, a unique opportunity to try it!
Anyone who loves ceviche should definitely go to Salmuera. I tried three different ceviches and found them all equally delicious. But… definitely try the mackerel ceviche. The presentation alone is a sight to behold! And the flavor is just as good :-).
