Roux Amsterdam is one of those familiar places where you get the feeling it’s been around for years. That might ring genuine somewhere – former employees of Pesca on Rozengracht set up Roux – but this establishment in the heart of Jordaan is brand new.

Why you want to visit Roux Amsterdam

Roux Amsterdam is a place to hold close to your heart. Its location is pleasant and central – Westerstraat is particularly lively on weekends – and its focus on the highest possible quality is almost unmatched. Regarding ingredients, Roux collaborates with local heroes such as Het Kaasatelier, Oesterij, Jamoneria by Rick, and Zagt Amsterdam. And then you know: this promises a lot of goodness.

Menu Roux

The menu at Roux is bursting with classics with a modern twist. Think oysters, an extensive selection of cheeses, and meats of the highest quality sourced from local farmers. Additionally, the open kitchen serves as the beating heart of Roux – from a spot at the bar, you can easily watch as the chefs (led by chef Evy) create the most extraordinary dishes. We could say it’s fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.

According to Roux’s sommelier Allon, champagne is the most essential part of the wine list, so the entire team recently travelled to the Champagne region to conduct thorough research. Not only that but the other wines and beverages on the menu have also been meticulously selected. Dining at Roux becomes a complete experience and flavour sensation, so don’t hesitate to seek advice from the staff about drinks – you won’t regret it.
