FollowTokyo is a city of many faces. Serene neighborhoods and parks, and a nightlife that is the most bizarre I've ever seen in a city. Tokyo is full of themed restaurants, such as Robot RestaurantLet me start by saying that these are definitely not hidden gems! No, these are actually just real tourist traps. At least, that's how it seems. Once inside, you'll be amazed that the themed restaurants are mainly frequented by Japanese and Asian tourists. It's a kind of escapism that's part of the local culture. In the themed restaurants, you can dine or have a drink while all sorts of bizarre acts are performed. Seriously, the most bizarre thing I've ever seen... And I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, haha. But it's definitely typically Japanese!

The theme restaurants in Tokyo They're certainly not cheap, but as I mentioned before, you go there for the spectacle itself. And let me tell you… it's truly a bizarre experience. We sometimes caught ourselves wondering, would these "actors" actually find this so amazing? But the enthusiasm is convincing, and the audience (which includes a lot of Japanese) goes wild. And trust me, if a few robots are dancing to Michael Jackson's tunes, you'll automatically be waving along with the glow stick they hand you out ;-).

The program Robot Restaurant Incidentally, there's not really a restaurant in Tokyo, but more of a bar with a show. At the bar, you can order a bento box with some food before the show. There are several shows per day, and reservations are essential. We were lucky and managed to snag a spot because some people didn't show up. But if you want to immerse yourself in this bizarre experience, it's best to book in advance.
Because the Robot Restaurant is incredibly touristy, the prices are accordingly high. The show costs 8.000 yen, which is around 60 euros.
