Cornerstore is an all-time favorite in Amsterdam-Noord. On weekends, you can enjoy their unique menu while a DJ spins one catchy vinyl record after another. On Tuesdays (and the rest of the week), it's the perfect spot for a dinner in calmer waters. The menu is compact, but has everything your heart desires: from exquisite fish to confit duck leg and many other delicacies. The concept is shared dining, and that's a good thing: choosing is hard with a menu like Cornerstore's.

Another great place that is open on Tuesdays: VRR. At VRR in Amsterdam East It's all about unique flavors and pairing wines. Every so often, they organize extensive wine tastings with a four-course dinner on weekends, but you can also enjoy their consistently excellent cuisine on Tuesdays.

Cradam – Café Restaurant Amsterdam – is a household name in Amsterdam and beyond, and without a doubt one of our favorite restaurants open on Tuesdays in Amsterdam. It's a no-nonsense restaurant with an extensive menu, consisting primarily of Dutch classics and dishes borrowed from other European cuisines. Think pesto pasta, green beans with boiled egg, and a hamburger. They also have a special children's menu, which will delight even the littlest ones.

Alba
Restaurant Alba, located on Wibautstraat in Amsterdam East, also doubles as a wine bar. The interior is cozy and sleek, with a wooden floor, light-colored walls, and a huge wine display case. The compact menu features a selection of excellent snacks and shared-dining dishes to pair with matching wines. The enormous terrace is definitely their unique selling point: 130 square meters and always sunny. We know where we'd love to spend our Tuesday evenings.

The Greenhouse*
De Kas has now earned a green Michelin star, and that's just one reason why you'll want to dine at this restaurant – open on Tuesdays! They operate according to the "harvested in the morning, on your plate in the afternoon" principle, growing most of their ingredients in their own greenhouse. The remaining produce is equally local, which is why they offer set menus. Expect multiple courses with vegetables as the main focus, and meat or fish for those who prefer – all in the cozy setting of a massive greenhouse in Frankendael Park.

These days, many Amsterdammers head to Amsterdam-Noord for a visit to Hotel de Goudfazant, one of the most accessible restaurants open on Tuesdays in Amsterdam. Despite the enormous warehouse that houses the restaurant, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is extremely personal. Their wine list—as is the changing menu of European specialties—is excellent.

Cafe Modern
At Café Modern, you can enjoy drinks on the terrace from 4:00 PM, and dinner in the restaurant from 6:00 PM. They offer a rotating five- to seven-course menu, including wine pairings. The stylish interior features vintage furniture and traditional Dutch colors, such as green walls. This makes the setting just as special as the ever-surprising menu.

Wilde Zwijnen is a well-known restaurant on Javaplein in Amsterdam-Oost. Don't be fooled by the name, as the restaurant has plenty of vegetarian options. They describe their cuisine as "wild, regional, vegetarian, and seasonal," and we can't think of a better word to describe it. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a slightly industrial interior that nevertheless feels warm. One of our favorite restaurants open on Tuesdays in Amsterdam – just go.

A cookbook from Grandma. Three Michelin stars. And a beautiful 70s villa in a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok, where you are welcomed as if you were at the chefs' home.
The Sühring brothers do not cook based on trends; they cook from memories. Of their grandmother's farm, of the flavors of their youth in Germany, and of techniques passed down through generations.
@relaischateaux invited me to experience Sühring during a solo lunch, and this is truly my ultimate definition of culinary self-care.
This was a surprising afternoon in Bangkok, where I ate the best German food I have ever tasted. And that in a city where I normally avoid European restaurants. Well, for @restaurant_suhring, you really want to make that exception.
Signature dishes that I still think back to regularly?

🍴 Enleta waffle with Pfalz vinegar
🍴 Game pie

This is one of the nicest free outings in the spring! Did you know that you can gather (or pick, for the connoisseurs 😉) oysters yourself in various places in the Netherlands? I’m in Zeeland for a bit this weekend, and if we can, we’ll go again.

Important to know:
– Max. 10 kilos per person (≈ 1 bucket)
– For personal use only
– Do not scoop or scrape the soil
– Go at low tide
Handy to take with you:
Bucket, screwdriver, boots, work gloves, tea towel, clean clothes and garbage bags (for the oysters and dirty clothes).
And of course: also bring an oyster knife, lemon and champagne 🍋🥂Because you want to taste something right away!
The oyster season runs from September to about April / early May, so now that the water isn't so cold, this is the perfect outing.
