You'll find the unique Heling7 on the corner of Damen Shiprepair on the old NDSM site in Noord. As the name suggests, this restaurant with a large terrace is located in a former shipyard. This terrace is definitely worth a visit, as it can be covered on colder days. The restaurant, overlooking the IJ River, was built with a sustainable vision. But most importantly: the food is excellent. They serve unpretentious dishes prepared over an open fire.

Anyone who's ever attended an event where Copain Amsterdam catered the food knows it left them wanting more. This is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants we've dined at recently. The way they combine everyday flavors and make them special is almost unmatched. Also good news for those who prefer not to drink (too much): their alcohol-free pairings and selection are excellent.

As you walk from the ferry onto the NDSM site, you'll find the entrance to this familiar Amsterdam Noord hotspot on the left side of these enormous halls. A bonus: in good weather, there's a terrace overlooking the street art of the adjacent STREET museum. On the top floor of Zeal Amsterdam has several lovely spots where you can sit if you feel like people-watching while sitting downstairs in the restaurant.

As if there weren't enough already, Amsterdam Noord has another great hotspot: Pelusa. Under the motto "Come and enjoy life with us!" you can sit down for a lavish four- or five-course dinner where the barbecue takes center stage. For drinks, you can choose from wine or beer pairings, and the rotating tap always offers something you've never tasted before.

Metro is easily one of the nicest restaurants in Amsterdam Noord. And the good news is that they have their own bakery, so they open early every day. The best time to visit is around lunchtime! From 12:00 PM onwards, they already have a number of divine dishes on the changing menu. I recommend ordering a variety of dishes from the menu and don't miss the snacks. Fill your table, add a glass of wine or another delicious drink, and enjoy! Also great for a date night. TIP: combine a daytime visit with... NXT Museum which is right next to Cafe Restaurant Metro.

Bacalar has been a deserved hit for years, and the experts agree: at Bacalar in Noord, you'll find the best tacos in town. The taco with pulpo is truly divine and a must-try. So are the rib tacos, and be sure to order a variety of tostadas. There are always new, delicious tacos on the menu – and don't forget the cocktails.

This restaurant is easily accessible from the ferry on the IJ River. The interior resembles a classic Amsterdam café, but with a modern twist. The menu is based on family recipes, and every dish is packed with flavor. In short: a cozy spot you simply must experience.

Cornerstore is a perennial favorite in Noord. Dinner is served from 6:00 PM, and what makes this gastrobar's setting truly special are the shelves overflowing with records. Inspired by Japanese music bars, Cornerstore combines music, natural wines, and a menu based on local ingredients (but with Asian flavors).

At Café Cress, they do things a little differently. Owner Cyril Martineau met partners Jeffrey Klepper and Niamh Groentjes at their previous employer, Floreyn, on Albert Cuypstraat. Despite a completely different location, Cyril still sources all his ingredients fresh from the farm at the Albert Cuyp Market every morning.

Café Soleil Amsterdam is a delightful Mediterranean restaurant specializing in excellent comfort food. It's the perfect place for a fun evening with friends, but we also think it's very kid-friendly, and they offer special group packages. A great place to celebrate a birthday!

At Europa Pizza, don't expect pizzas you see everywhere on the menu. Think pizzas with brie de meaux, miso, or Dutch shrimp! Just to name a few of the ingredients we've seen. Start your evening with some oysters, cured ham, little gem, and razor clams (we're sold!). Then, grab a pizza or two to share—because you'll want to try as much as possible here.

At Restaurant Europa, everything is done differently: from the incredibly long bar to the set menu and the chefs themselves serving the dishes – it's the order of the day at Restaurant Europa. The first thing you notice upon entering is the long space, which would have been perfect for a large number of tables. Instead, the owners opted for a huge turquoise bar that stretches from the entrance to the back. This way, you not only have a pleasant interaction with the waitstaff, but also with the chefs and other kitchen staff.

Since its opening, it's been a huge success, and the enormous, industrial-style warehouse is packed every night. You'll enjoy pure, no-nonsense food in a large hall that somehow still feels cozy and personal. And just like other restaurants in Amsterdam Noord, Hotel de Goudfazant has ample parking.

Barracuda is one of our favorite seafood restaurants, located on Aambeeldstraat. They have a unique approach: each table receives a menu where you can select which dishes you'd like to have. From ricotta toast and scallops in white wine to fennel with sea aster – there's plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Open Wednesday through Saturday for dinner, and Friday and Saturday for lunch. Bonus: in the summer, you can enjoy a lovely waterfront setting.

Coba has been a fixture in Amsterdam Noord and the surrounding area for years. You'll need to book well in advance—just like at Bacalar—to secure a spot. But hey, you'll be rewarded, because Coba is a phenomenon for a reason. Want to go all out and eat like a true Mexican? Order the Mescal, a cocktail with chili-infused watermelon, orange with worm salt, and a grasshopper.
