Eetcafé Edita Amsterdam wanted to be a place where you're reminded of beautiful moments with friends and loved ones, preferably during a summer holiday in a Mediterranean region. Take the South of France, for example, a place where summer evenings seem to last forever. Feel the butterflies already?

Parlotte is one of the finest restaurants on Westerstraat. They serve excellent wines and a French menu, mostly designed for sharing. Don't miss the scallops in spicy sauce.

A place where you can go on weekends, starting at lunchtime, for a French-inspired, no-nonsense menu. That's a good thing, because lunch on the weekend is sometimes so much more fun than dining out late at night – even if you're on a date. It's a place where you can go as crazy as you like. Read the extensive review here.

In the heart of the city center, tucked away in the Red Light District, you'll find a hidden gem: Mata Hari Amsterdam. The restaurant, which has been drawing crowds for years, was due for an upgrade. The owners of Helling7 and Café Verlan saw an opportunity and recently took over the business. After a minor renovation and the development of a new menu, the new Mata Hari restaurant reopened in early January. The interior still evokes late 19th-century Paris. Perfect for a night out with your loved one.

Trees Amsterdam is exactly such a place that our capital was still missing. A place with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and a mouthwatering menu. The interior is cozy, dark, and feels like a second home. It's reminiscent of Gertrude (also from Amadou and Géza's pen), but with a different twist. A lovely place where you'd just as happily settle in with a date as with friends.

Gertrude is one of those consistently good spots in Amsterdam West where you'd love to hang out every weekend. The food is delicious and unique, the staff is friendly, and there's always something going on. The cute tables and cozy setting make this spot perfect for a date night.

Auberge reopened its doors with the help of Michelin-starred chef Richard van Oostenbrugge, known for his work at Restaurant 212, De Juwelier, and Bistro de la Mer. Since reopening, Oostenbrugge, along with the owners, has breathed new life into Auberge, maintaining the same quality and expertise you've come to expect. Perfect for a night out with your loved one.

You might know Chef Timo de Beurs from Slagerij de Beurs, founded by his grandfather. The butcher shop closed, but the now-famous Café Wu took its place. From red mullet in oyster sauce to sui mai with lango tartare: Café Wu quickly became a huge success, thanks to its unique menu and pleasant atmosphere. here is the extensive article about Café Wu.

Chef Jakub trained at the Miyajima Ramen School in Osaka, Japan, and it shows! At Fuku Ramen, you can enjoy delicious ramen with homemade noodles. If you prefer a more elaborate dinner, that's also possible. Fuku Ramen offers several courses with a variety of dishes based on Japanese culture. The extensive menu, in particular, is perfect for a date night.

On the corner of Trompenburgstraat (on the edge of Rivierenbuurt) you'll find Café Remouillage, where they elevate food to an art form. The dishes are simple, and it's precisely that simplicity that makes them so special. Thanks to the four- or six-course menu, you can easily spend an evening here.

Caffé Pico is the perfect place to enjoy authentic Italian delicacies with your loved one. This hotspot's menu features primarily sharing dishes, which might just be the ultimate test for you and your partner ;-) Thanks to the disco ball and mood lighting, you'll feel a bit like you're in a glamorous nightclub—definitely worth a visit!

Stacks Diner is a great spot for a date night, thanks to the cozy, dark atmosphere. Even if you prefer to remain anonymous, it's a great hotspot, though you're likely to bump into everyone in Amsterdam, as Stacks has been incredibly popular since its opening.

Bar Centraal is known for its fantastic natural wines and matching menu. You choose the number of courses and don't have to pay attention to anything but each other for the rest of the evening. And once dinner is over, you can simply hang out at the bar or visit one of the many other restaurants nearby.

Calisto is a lovely Italian restaurant (with a hotel) on Haarlemmerdijk, owned by the same people as Binnenvisser. Thanks to its central location, you're within easy reach of numerous other establishments and bars.

The owner of Massalia and Gitane, Angelo Kremmydas, explains that not many people know that Marseille (Massalia) was founded by the Greeks. So, at Massalia, they serve Greek cuisine—but in a brasserie/bistro style. They also focus on wine (both natural and traditional) and have a unique cocktail menu. Perfect for a date night.

They had barely opened when Het Parool awarded them an 8,5. Since then, nothing but praise has been heaped on this cozy spot tucked between Spiegelgracht and Vijzelgracht. You can choose from a monthly changing 5-course menu for €49, which can be expanded with oysters as a starter and cheese for dessert.

The city's Italian restaurant is the perfect spot for a date night. Enter the centuries-old building on Lindengracht through charming cobblestones and gaze into the silent open kitchen. Chef Leonardo Pacenti has been cooking up a storm here for years, and everyone in Amsterdam knows it: so it's best to book a month or two in advance.

Small dishes with lots of vegetables, complex flavors, and natural wine. That's what you can expect at Café Binnenvisser. With a delicious playlist blaring from the speakers, relaxed service, and friendly prices (a menu costs around €33,-) The perfect spot for a cozy date night. Please note: reservations are not accepted.

Choosing from this list will be difficult, so I recommend calling Lille now to see if they have any availability. One of my all-time favorites, with classic French cuisine. On your plate, you'll find the most tender fish soup, the beef steak with béarnaise sauce of your dreams, and the tastiest potatoes you can find. And I haven't even mentioned the wine, which alone is reason enough to visit Lille. Booking well in advance is a must!

Looking for something in Oost? Then Wilde Zwijnen is always a good choice. Because they only use local and seasonal ingredients, the menu changes regularly. Despite what their name might suggest, they serve a delicious mix of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes.

For all the French among us, Café Caron is the perfect spot for a date night. After years of working in the culinary world, Alain Caron and his two sons opened Café Caron in De PijpThe atmosphere is friendly, the food is always good, and yes, here too the wines are something to write home about.

Gebr Hartering is an Amsterdam institution. Brothers Paul and Niek Hartering cook here according to the French table d'hôte principle, with a 5- to 7-course menu every day. The côte de boeuf (there it is again) is among the most delicious I've ever eaten, but every dish was truly memorable. Expect plenty of meat, full flavors, and rich sauces.
Pepper Street 10, Amsterdam – gebrhartering.nl

A lot lighter is Sjefietshe from culinary king Seger Abels and JacobszChef Rick Swinkels. This fantastic cevicheria originated from the eponymous pop-up, which proved an instant success. Enjoy various types of ceviche, roasted pulpo, "leukbek 2.0," and more. The Scandinavian interior, with its simple wooden furniture and dark blue as the dominant color, is reason enough in itself to plan a visit to Sjefietshe.

After years of working together at the late Bordewijk Giel Kaagman and Bram Kortekaas opened their own restaurant, Kaagman & Kortekaas. The whole city immediately swooned over their menu of rich dishes where nose-to-tail cooking, provenance, and season play a key role. Expect lots of organ meats, deep flavors, and sauces you'll want to drink straight from the jug.
St. Nicholas Street 43, Amsterdam – kaagmanenkortekaas.nl

Perhaps the biggest counterpart to Kaagman & Kortekaas is restaurant Choux. Here, they primarily cook with vegetables, plants, flowers, and grains. As a result, the dishes are anything but lacking in flavor. Always positively surprising, and sometimes even touching. I had the best dessert of my culinary life here, made with rosehip and young goat cheese. I still dream about it…

When Arles opened on my street, I knew immediately: this was a keeper. Chef Numa Muller was born in Arles, France, and named his neo-bistro after his birthplace. Savor French flavors and influences from around the world in his refined yet comforting dishes.

After working in restaurants including Bordewijk, Rijsel, and Arles, hospitality talent Xander Waller and chef Arvid Schmidt opened Restaurant Entrepot on Amsterdam's unique Entrepotdok. The former billiard room was thoroughly renovated, resulting in a large, bright space with the enormous open kitchen at the back as a focal point. The menu focuses primarily on local and seasonal dishes, with extensive use of open fires.

French cuisine is well represented on this list, including at Café De Klepel. Don't be misled by the name: what used to be a traditional Dutch pub (brown café) made way in 2013 for the French bistro it is today.

When Bordewijk closed its doors at Noordermarkt in 2018, the Toscanini team took over and opened Domenica. Here, they serve a fusion of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The dishes I highly recommend are the bone marrow with langoustines and the fried cime di rapa.

Scheepskameel was opened by three gentlemen from restaurant Rijsel and a fourth partner, and what a great move! Classic European dishes with a strong focus on the main ingredient are the guiding principles. The menu is divided into five categories (raw, vegetarian, fish/meat, cheese, and dessert) allowing you to create your own menu. The wines are all sourced from Germany. Fantastic!

First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.
So thank you for your support when you see #yourlbbcollab, #pressstrip or #prinvited ;-).
This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.
Luckily, I have a small team that helps with certain sections, and this year we're going through all the tips critically. What's still truly fun, and what's not?
As a leisure expert and queen of curation, I'm so excited to take yourlittleblackbook.me to the next level. Even though being an online entrepreneur requires constant attention and doesn't always come naturally, I wouldn't want anything else.
My mission remains: making your life easier.
So you don't have to search, but can simply choose well.
So glad you were here this year. Without you, there would be no Your Little Black Book 🖤
See you in 2026!
With love,
@anne_de_buck

I have always been part of the family and have always been proud of my work. I have a nice garden in my garden 🗝️👀
Mark your calendars! Because on January 17th and 18th, Hotel Night returns to Amsterdam with a year-round event packed with health and wellness events, and of course, legendary parties you'll be talking about all year long.
I got a sneak peek at The Art of Balance theme at the luxurious Anantara Krasnapolsky and arranged a similarly special experience for you as a YLBB follower.
And in my opinion:
• overnight stay for 2 people in a luxury room on January 17, 2026
• access to the spa & wellness (subject to availability via the wellness desk)
• pre-dinner cocktail at Bar The Tailor
• fully catered dinner from the chef
• passe-partouts for the Hotel Night parties
• extensive breakfast in the Winter Garden
• participation in unique Ice Experience in Krasnapolsky Summergarden
And in Flanders:
• let us know who you would like to check in with at Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky during the Mastercard Hotel Night
• download the Mastercard Hotel Night app where you can see the complete program
• and take a look at @hotelnacht and @anantarakrasnapolsky for the latest updates and to get the fun started!
The winner will be notified on January 5th in a comment from @hotelnacht that I will share in my stories.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
