In my opinion, Le French Café is one of the most atmospheric new restaurants in Amsterdam East. It's the kind of place where everyone feels welcome thanks to its cozy bistro-style interior. Located on the lively Javastraat, you can enjoy a 3-, 4-, or 5-course dinner here on Christmas Eve. They're open for lunch and dinner on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, so you can feel like you're in Paris for Christmas. Start the evening with a glass of crémant or a classic Kir Royale, and then let the special festive menu surprise you. Curious about the Christmas menu, which is also available as a vegetarian option? View the menu here and book directly >>

Have you been to Massalia on Beukenplein yet? It's a stunningly charming and inviting spot where you can enjoy a delicious Christmas menu by chef Angelo Kremmydas (who you probably already know from Gitane in West). At this brasserie-style restaurant, you'll taste influences from the Greek cuisine where the chef and owner have their roots. Flavorful dishes are perfect for sharing and will happily fill the table. A set menu will be served during Christmas. Join us on December 24th, 25th, and 26th for Christmas dinner. View the menu here and reserve your table >>

East Oost's favorite neighborhood restaurant! They opened this year and immediately won an Entree Award. I discovered last fall that the interior of Badhuis is just as cozy as the terrace. A warm interior, a delicious menu with fish, meat, and vegetarian options—so fitting for East Oost (where I live, so I'm a bit biased, haha). They're open for lunch and dinner on December 24th and 26th during the holidays. There's no set menu on the website yet, but keep an eye on it for updates. View the menus here >>

In my opinion, a delicious meal (with the whole family) at The Lobby is always a good idea! On December 24, 25, and 26, you can join us for a Christmas lunch or Christmas dinner in Amsterdam. The menu will be announced via their social media channels, so I'd say keep an eye on Instagram! You can also stay overnight after dinner, because The Lobby is the restaurant of Hotel V on Fizeaustraat. View the menu here and book directly >>

Wilde Zwijnen was one of the first restaurants I ever wrote about on Your Little Black Book. And sometimes it's almost a shame that so many new restaurants are opening there, and I have to go there for work, otherwise I'd go back much more often. Delicious food, always a great atmosphere, and during the holidays, they serve a festive 5-course dinner between December 22nd and 27th (except December 25th). Booked immediately for the end of November ;-)! View the menu here and book directly >>

One of the best new businesses to open in North Amsterdam last year is undoubtedly V12. Friendly, creative, and surprising! During the holidays, they're celebrating Christmas for five days. Enjoy a 5-course dinner for (just) €60. Reservations are available for December 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, or 28th. via the website >>

Haven't been to Helling7 yet? Then it's definitely a must-do, whether it's during the holidays or any other time. This unique restaurant is built on a former shipyard and overlooks the IJ River. They cook over an open fire, and every time I've eaten here, it's been absolutely delicious. At Helling7 in Amsterdam Noord, you can enjoy a festive four-course menu between December 22nd and 30th. Going out for Christmas Eve dinner in Amsterdam with beer lovers? Then you'll want (no, you must!) go to Pelusa in Noord. I don't know of any other restaurant in Amsterdam that combines beer with delicious food at this level. Authentic dishes with a choice of fish, meat, or vegetarian, prepared over an open fire here too. Enjoy unique beers and ciders in a relaxed atmosphere, accompanied by truly good food. Another favorite in Amsterdam Noord is Restaurant Metro. If you're looking to dine out in Amsterdam during the holidays, you can enjoy lunch and dinner here on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The menu at Metro changes regularly. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely meal or a glass of wine at the bar, the appetizer menu is truly delicious. And if you're looking for something to do during the holidays, you could even combine your lunch or dinner with a visit to NXT museum next to the restaurant that is entirely dedicated to digital art. This restaurant is a well-known name in Amsterdam Noord. And I have to say: I've been coming here at least once a year myself for many years. The menu at Hotel de Goudfazant is always delicious and thankfully doesn't change too much. On Boxing Day, you can go there for dinner and Reservations can now also be made via the website instead of calling.

After its success in East, you can now also visit Le French Café in West. La Brasserie on Admiraal de Ruijterweg has the same concept, but with a slightly different, atmospheric interior. In our opinion, it's a truly wonderful addition to the neighborhood! Simply delicious food, friendly service, and the kind of place you can bring the whole family to. The good news is that they're also open during the holidays. In West, you can enjoy a 3-, 4-, or 5-course dinner in a French atmosphere on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Last year, I went to Cantine de Caron for a pre-Christmas dinner with friends, and I still think it's a great place. It's great for two or four people, but also for a larger group. The French menu never gets old, and the wines are always good. They're open on December 24th, 25th, and 26th! Want to make your holiday visit to this restaurant on the Westergasterrein extra special? Then go to Fabrique des Lumieres. View the menu and make a reservation here >>

A staple restaurant in Amsterdam that hopefully every Amsterdammer has visited at least once. I love coming back for the classics on the menu, which thankfully almost never change. Also at Daalder in Amsterdam West You can dine out in Amsterdam this Christmas. On December 24th and 25th, you can enjoy a chef's menu created by Michelin-starred chef Dennis Huwaë. He quickly elevated Daalder to star status, earning their first Michelin star in 2021. His dishes are described as chic and refined, yet unpretentious, a perfect fit for the restaurant's somewhat raw setting (located at Het Sieraad). Book via the website >>

By far one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam city center. And the good news is that they're open for Christmas dinner on December 25th and 26th. At Café Verlan, there are several cozy nooks, each with its own unique ambiance. You can also dine at the bar! The website doesn't mention a special menu, so I assume you'll just be able to enjoy à la carte. And that's exactly what you want at a place like Verlan! Reserve your table here >>

A new favorite in the Jordaan is Roux. This is the place to go for excellent, high-quality food, with beautiful Dutch ingredients and luxurious additions you can add to your liking. The atmosphere is very pleasant, without being pretentious. The entrance looks like a small, narrow street, but the restaurant is much larger than you might think. This year I had a pleasant meal at the bar with a view of the chefs. During the Christmas holidays, they serve a special menu between December 22nd and 30th. View the menu here and book directly >>

In the heart of Amsterdam in the beautiful The Dylan Hotel You'll find Bar Brasserie Occo, whose interior strongly evokes a traditional Dutch setting. With a floor of small bricks and wooden beams incorporated into the ceiling, it feels like stepping back in time. Restaurant Flore in the beautiful The L'Europe Hotel is open every Christmas, where you can enjoy fine dining like you've probably never experienced before. It's no wonder Flore has two (!) Michelin stars; chef Bas van Kranen cooks up a storm. His unique approach centers on sustainability, vegetables, and local produce. Jansz. also in the fine Pulitzer Hotel is open on both Christmas days. Just like Occo, Jansz. feels like stepping back in time.
