Maastricht is packed with great restaurants. Around the Vrijthof and Onze Lieven Vrouwenplein squares, you'll find plenty of cafes and restaurants. But it's more fun to go where the locals eat! The best restaurants are found in the narrow side streets, sometimes tucked away from the touristy squares. So, looking for a great restaurant in Maastricht? Here's my top 6 of restaurants I've tested for you!
Authentic Maastricht cafe with delicious food at reasonable prices. Also a great place to have drinks after work on Fridays or a post-dinner drink. Prices range from €16 to €23 for a main course.
Café Chic – Sint Pieterstraat 13 – Maastricht
For an evening of fine dining with friends in the heart of the romantic Stokstraat district. Around €55 for a three-course meal, excluding drinks.
Rosemary – Havenstraat 19 – Maastricht
Trendy all-day cafe in the charming Wyck neighborhood. Wyck is located near the city center, between Central Station and the city center. On Friday afternoons, Cafe Zondag is the go-to spot for drinks among Maastricht's hipsters. It's always a good time at Cafe Zondag! It's great for coffee or lunch during the day, and delicious tapas are on the menu in the evening.

If you love seafood, Restaurant "O" is a must! It's a cozy little restaurant in the trendy Wyck neighborhood where you can enjoy delicious seafood in Maastricht. Rechtstraat, where Restaurant "O" is located, is a great place to shop during the day!

Marres Kitchen is one of Maastricht's newest restaurants and a great addition to the restaurant scene. They serve delicious Mediterranean dishes, from grilled salmon to the tastiest eggplant spreads with Turkish bread. The interior is also fantastic, blending design with authentic elements like a picnic table. The large garden is a wonderful place to relax in the summer. Marres Kitchen is open until 19 PM, so you can also enjoy an early bite in the evening!
Marres Kitchen – Capuchin Street 98 – Maastricht
A great spot for typical Belgian dishes. All ingredients are sourced from Belgium, and even the menu and website are written in Flemish.
