Babel Restaurant Babylonstoren Cape Town: In a word, divine!

Prepared with ingredients from our own garden and you can taste it!

Cape Town is hot! If you are going to Cape Town or planning to go soon and are reading this blog right now, book a table immediately at Babel Restaurant Babylonstoren Estate. This is where you will want to dine or have lunch. Divine! That is probably the best way to describe it here. During my last trip, I not only ate here but also stayed at Babylonstoren. Which is really amazing, if your budget allows for a night. And if that is not the case, just go there for lunch. Just as enjoyable!

Restaurant Babylonstoren in Cape Town recently expanded significantly, doubling in size. You wouldn't even notice it, though, because the restaurant is divided into two sections with a courtyard in between. This creates a very intimate atmosphere. I absolutely love the section with the tiled wall featuring a huge painting of a cow. The interior is also very bright. Lots of white, some wooden details, and a concrete floor. The windows offer mountain views.

The menu at Babel Restaurant Babylonstoren features salads, main courses, and desserts, each prepared with vegetables and fruit from their own garden. Babylonstoren's garden is beautiful, by the way, and certainly worth a stroll. You can definitely taste that everything ends up on your plate fresh from their own garden. The starter salads are called yellow, red, and green and are made with seasonal ingredients . I particularly enjoyed the red (with aubergine) and the yellow (with a trout terrine). These salads are large enough to share as a starter; otherwise, there is a good chance you wouldn't be able to finish your main course, and that would be a shame. The miso-glazed chicken from the Jopser grill is a must-try. It was so delicious that I ordered chicken much more often in South Africa after eating this dish.

The service at Babel restaurant is excellent. So friendly!
