Wild Boar restaurant Amsterdam: a household name in the capital for 15 years

For over fifteen years (!), a household name both inside and outside our capital. We're talking, of course, about restaurant Wilde Zwijnen Amsterdam. Since opening in 2010, they've been part of the nouveau rugged club. Think: wooden tables with old school chairs, lots of white, and industrial elements. When you make a reservation, they'll write your name in chalk on the table. And that's just the beginning of the unique experience.

Atmosphere and interior at Wilde Zwijnen Amsterdam

Wilde Zwijnen Amsterdam is a place where the interior could easily be the same in fifteen years. That's what happens when you've had a clear (and tasteful) approach since the beginning. A touch industrial, minimalist, but always welcoming thanks to the staff and the excellent food they serve night after night: Wilde Zwijnen is a great place to be. Even in the summer on their terrace.

Menu and dishes at Wilde Zwijnen

The menu features unique dishes (unusual!) made with local and seasonal ingredients. You hear that a lot these days, thankfully, but it's been Wilde Zwijnen's way of doing business since 2010. Consider them the founders of this phenomenon in Amsterdam.

Dining includes a three- to five-course menu, curated by the chef and adapted to any dietary requirements. Feeling hungry? Then expand your meal with a cheese board. The dishes look as special as they taste. Think: perfectly smoked mackerel, horseradish cream, and stuffed zucchini flower. It's no wonder the restaurant has a Gault & Millau listing.

And for those who prefer not to drink: they serve the award-winning and acclaimed HopHoutthee from Firma Bruis. Trust us: it's just as good as a glass of bubbly, even if the taste isn't quite the same.
