First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.

This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.

This is the coolest new hotel for a night away! Meet @viaantwerp, Antwerp's newest boutique hotel on the border of Zurenborg and Borgerhout (yep, voted the 2nd coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out).
I recently stayed at this gem, and it truly has it all: a lively bar with a cozy atmosphere, walls adorned with creative art, beautiful, bright rooms, and it's within walking distance of great hotspots. And I haven't even mentioned @mea.antwerp! The delightful restaurant, helmed by a chef who previously worked at The Palomar in London. If you know, you know!

Vrijhaven Zwier is located on the famous Vinkeveense Plassen lakes, a short fifteen-minute drive from Amsterdam. Here you can rent sailboats, canoes, and sloops. Zwier also has a unique type of boat, a "Rustvalkje" (Rest Valkyrie). When you rent it, Zwier provides you with a blanket, a nautical map, and a thermos. Perfect for a date on the water, even on less-than-summery days!

Tea garden Overleek
Theetuin Overleek also offers whisper boats for rent. Cruise along small canals and lakes past idyllic villages north of Amsterdam. This way, you'll discover a relatively unknown part of North Holland in a unique way. Our recommendation? Book a picnic on board; the homemade cake and lemonade are especially delicious.

Buoy2 Northern Lakes
Rent one of the many boats here and explore the inland waters of the Flevopolder from Almere. Cruise through Flevoland's famous nature reserves or explore the Almere skyline. For a truly unique experience, rent one of Boei2's barbecue boats; a more enjoyable day on the water with friends is hard to imagine.

Blue Harbor
Blue Harbor is the perfect base for exploring the Gooimeer lake. Rent a Dutch sloop here and explore the lake and its surrounding villages. Or sail from the Gooimeer lake into the Eemmeer lake and moor at the island "De Dode Hond" (The Dead Dog) for a perfect day on the water. From the Eemmeer lake, you can visit the old fishing village of Spakenburg; it's definitely worth it! Grab a snack for the road at the Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Nautisch Kwartier, and your day will be complete.

Holy Boot
Holy Boot is located in the small village of Holysloot, just north of Amsterdam. Here you can rent Canadian canoes and so-called "Whisper Boats." These are silent boats with electric motors; very environmentally friendly! Upon arrival, Holy Boot offers six different boating routes to explore the Waterland peat meadow area. Holy Boot rents boats by appointment only, so be sure to book online.

Boat rental De Otter
From De Otter, explore the Loosdrechtse Plassen on a fantastic sloop or falcon, just a half-hour drive from Amsterdam. All boats are modernly equipped and therefore exceptionally comfortable. The Otter is a real favorite of ours, especially because of the delicious onboard catering options. Take the canapés and drinks platter to a sunny spot on the lake and enjoy a luxurious and elegant day on the Loosdrechtse Plassen.
