Rem eiland Amsterdam: awesome view across the IJ

12 September 2014

Book the Chef’s table for a date night at rem eiland amsterdam

Restaurant Rem eiland (island) offers not only a great view across the IJ. The restaurant literately stands in the IJ. Have you been there already? In the sixties Rem eiland was used to illegally send television from the Noordzee. But these days the location is transformed to an unique restaurant which stands in the Houthavens of Amsterdam. Such a cool location!

It’s quite a bike ride and climb upstairs to the restaurant, but it’s absolutely worth it. When you enter the restaurant you will notice how light the spot is because of the glass walls. The interior is made of light wood which suits perfectly in the atmosphere. Make sure you arrive early (while it’s still light) to get a table at the window. You will enjoy the best view across the IJ (and who knows a nice sundowner).

The Rem eiland is perfect for a romantic dinner with your lover. Start off with oysters, to share of course. Or enjoy the three course menu from Rem eiland for only 31 euro. It’s also possible to order separately from the menu. All starters are around 9 euro and a main course 19 euro. This will be even an affordable date!

Tip: order the cheese platter with Erik’s delicatessen for desert with a very nice port! Enjoy :-)
