Recipe: How to make Vietnamese Iced Salty Coffee at home

If you've ever been to Vietnam, you know: drinking coffee is quite an experience there. And one of my favorite discoveries? Salty Coffee. I first tasted this iced coffee in Hue, and I was instantly hooked. It might sound strange, coffee with salt, but believe me: that little touch of sea salt makes the flavor so much richer. Think: strong iced coffee with a creamy, slightly sweet foam layer that almost tastes like a dessert. Perfect for a hot day, but secretly also just delicious to make at home when you're craving a next-level coffee moment. Below, I'm sharing the recipe as I prefer to make it.

Recipe: ICED SALTY COFFEE

Drank in: Hue (Vietnam )

Ingredients:
1 cup for strong iced coffee
3-4 large ice cubes
1 tablespoon of whipped cream
⅛ teaspoon coarse sea salt
1 teaspoon of sweet condensed milk (from a carton)
Cocoa powder (optional)

  • Fill the glass with ice cubes and make the iced coffee.
  • Add an extra ice cube if necessary.
  • Spoon the whipped cream foam mixture over the coffee and stir with the straw.
