In Mexico’s Tulum you’ll find this perfect hip beach spot.
You want soft white sandy beaches? Check. You want great food and drinks all day long? Check. Romance? Check. Spend the night in a fabulous cabaña? Check. The Papaya Playa Project in Tulum has it all.
You should have seen our faces when entering our private just-a-few-steps-away-from-the-beach cabaña. We slept in lots of cottages and cabins before but this one is just too awesome. It is part of the Design Hotels Group and it shows! Love the way how they’ve styled the cabaña; beautiful turquoise concrete floor, creamy-white walls, small stairs that lead to the bathroom. But the best of all has got to be the 3 large windows with sea view. Waking up with the sound of the waves and view on the beach and ocean… Can it get any better than this?
Well, wait until you get to the beach. It’s absolutely stunning. Sand so white it hurts the eyes, blue greenish water and gorgeous people with hot bodies passing by (Damn I wish I had gone to the gym that last week). It seems we’ve entered a small paradise here.
Start your day with a healthy breakfast or lunch at the restaurant and don’t do anything else after that except lying on one of the beach beds with a Corona or cocktail.
Awesome how also the restaurant/ beach club of Papaya Playa was designed. From the terrace you’ve got a great view on the beach. And the food is just amazing here. There’s a reason why we ordered their ceviche 3 times these couple of days!
The handsome DJ is playing relaxing house tunes all day. Always cool to see that girls can spin the wheels as well.
In the weekends there’s always a party. Let me tell you it’s a great feeling when stepping on a moonlighted beach somewhere in Mexico with hot summer beats on the background and a half full Corona in your hand not even thinking about going to bed for the next couple of hours.
The weather can be unpredictable on the east side of Mexico because of the Caribbean coast. One rainy afternoon we spent our time in the cozy hideaway lying on a couple of pillows playing backgammon and reading magazines in front of the fire. That’s also vacation. Love it!
Ending this trip through a wonderful Mexico in a place like this, it honestly couldn’t have been any better!
