Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away. During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies alike, where there is plenty to do. · A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea. · Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round. · Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting. · Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold now, but there is plenty to do. · The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!). Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure. ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck { In this post, I share tips for the Ebro Delta in Spain (Delta de l'Ebre). Celebrating New Year's Eve in London

Fireworks shows during New Year's Eve in London

In the Netherlands, fireworks are being banned in more and more places. In London, however, you can enjoy fantastic fireworks displays. As soon as midnight strikes, the sky above London is lit up with spectacular fireworks. Get there early and buy a ticket to watch the fireworks display along with thousands of other people. If you manage to get a ticket, the best way is to take the underground to Waterloo station. From there, it's a five-minute walk to the Southbank, near the London Eye, the famous Ferris wheel. Charing Cross, Embankment, and Westminster stations are also within walking distance. Arrive early, as it gets very busy this evening. Going with friends? Make sure you buy tickets for the same zone. The area is divided into zones this evening, and you can't simply walk from one zone to another. Afterward, everyone is directed towards Trafalgar Square. It might be worth walking one tube station further to avoid the worst of the crowds. Looking for a free and less crowded spot to enjoy the fireworks? Go to Primrose Hill. Many locals also choose to watch the fireworks go up in the sky from a distance.

Celebrate New Year's Eve in London with a Thames cruise

Welcome the New Year with a romantic cruise on the Thames. Many cruise lines offer special cruises to celebrate NYE in London in a fantastic way from the water. Often, you can enjoy food and entertainment on board. With a bit of luck, you'll even get to enjoy the London Eye fireworks show for free. Book early, as these cruises are incredibly popular.

Celebrate New Year's Eve in London on a rooftop

The view from soaring above London is always breathtaking, and on NYE in London, it's even more so. Enjoy the vibrant city from a rooftop. From here, the fireworks are even more impressive. The 12th Knot is a rooftop bar with views of the Thames and the London skyline. Here, you can ring in the new year partying. This year, you'll enjoy a performance by Nic Hanson and DJ LeDoe. Looking for a more lounge-like atmosphere? Ring in 2024 at LSQ Rooftop at Leicester Square 1. You can sit indoors or outdoors and enjoy the view. Want to start with an early dinner and then party into the new year? At Madison, you'll start with a three-course dinner at 17.00 PM and then continue to the New Year's Eve party with the ticket you receive with your dinner. Cocktails paired with spectacular views can be enjoyed at Bar Elba in Waterloo. This year, NYE is hosting a Midnight Island party.

Celebrate New Year's Eve in London at Sky Garden

The Sky Garden is a city garden 160 meters above London. From the 35th, 36th, and 37th floors, you have views of Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Shard, and the Millennium Bridge. This building is a special place to visit, and New Year's Eve is a special occasion. Enjoy a luxurious dinner at Darwin Brasserie or Fenchurch, or join the festivities at Sky Pod or City Garden.
