Osteria Bella Ciao is an established name in Amsterdam South and opened a second location earlier this year in Van Hallstraat, where more and more nice spots are located. With this new osteria, Amsterdam-West has gained a hotspot.

Osteria Bella Ciao opens a second location in Amsterdam West
Bella Ciao is such a nice osteria where you know where you stand. Good pasta, delicious pizzas (with surprising names), and original dishes from Italy that you don’t eat daily. Due to their great success in Amsterdam-Zuid, it was time for expansion in the renovated Van Hallstraat – in a neighborhood that is becoming increasingly nice.
Diagonally opposite Bella Ciao, you will find the Tapas Theater, where visitors enjoy tapas and short theater performances. Also nearby: AO Bar (great coffee and a breathtaking light blue interior) and Buurman, where they always greet everyone with ‘neighbor’ or ‘neighbour’ and serve perhaps the tastiest falafel in town.

Menu Osteria Bella Ciao
The interior of Bella Ciao is very colourful: from pink walls and matching chairs to colored wall decorations and cushions. Every detail has been considered, and that also applies to the menu. At Bella Ciao you eat traditional Italian. The linguini alle vongole is a hit, and the quadrelli di chianina (eggplant with cheese and tomatoes) is also a hit. If you close your eyes, that last dish gives you the feeling of being in Italy. However, save some room for the secondi (or approach the concept as shared dining so you can taste more of the menu), because the grass-fed beef from New Zealand is aย must try for meat lovers. Vegetarians will love the parmigiana, and the dessert menu is also full of the good things that Italy has to offer, with the traditional tiramisu as the icing on the cake. So go with an empty stomach.
