Each year the question comes again: what are you going to do during NYE? Apart from stuffing yourself with ‘oliebollen’ (Dutch deep-fried doughnuts) and champagne of course. When it comes down to parties, there’s plenty to do in Amsterdam. But when you look at the restaurants, it’s a lot more difficult. Lots of restaurants are closed during NYE or are throwing private parties. But we did some research and found some nice restaurants in Amsterdam that are open during New Year’s Eve 2017! Winehouse SOMM: On New Year’s Eve winehouse SOMM invites you for a special Table d’hôte. During this evening you can join with your friends and / or family to end the year and enjoy a 5-course dinner for €58, – p.p.

IZAKAYA: In the evening you can have a meal at IZAKAYA before going to a party in the city: the kitchen is open until 11:30 PM. On January 1 you can eat your hangover away at IZAKAYA the whole afternoon between 12:30 AM and 3 PM. Or just have some more cocktails and champagne in your cocktail dress ;-)

Wolf Atelier: On New Year’s Eve you are welcome at Wolf Atelier from 6 PM for a 7-course menu by Michael Wolf for €75,- including a glass of sparkling wine on arrival and possibly a 5-course wine pairing for €36,-.

The Walter Woodbury Bar: At The Walter Woodbury Bar in the Javastraat they are both open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. At this bar it’s always cozy and the perfect place to have a bite to eat before the new year officially starts, if you ask us!

Fondue Oost: Also across the street of The Walter Woodbury Bar, at Fondue Oost, they are open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. What better way to celebrate the new year than with cheese fondue, right? ;-)

SUSHISAMBA: At SUSHISAMBA New Year’s Eve is inspired by the New Year’s celebration in Rio de Janeiro. Dressed in white, candlelight offerings will be launched. Furthermore, it is celebrated with colourful Samba dancers, Batucada drummers and a DJ. There are several tickets available, such as a bar ticket, but you can also have dinner! Ps: dress code is white ;-)

Café Americain: On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Café Americain is open for anyone who doesn’t feel like cooking but wants to enjoy these special evenings in peace and quiet. Not a complicated menu, but a la carte as you are used to from this iconic location at the Leidseplein.

The French Connection: At The French Connection you can join for a festive dinner by Chef Jef van den Hout. Here you are at the right place for the perfect New Year’s Eve dinner: good wines and special dishes.

Jansz: At Jansz you can enjoy a 4-course menu on New Year’s Eve. The Jansz. shrimp cocktail, grilled brill bone with savory and Jerusalem artichoke, veal swede with duck liver and truffle, and omelette sibérienne with mango, passion fruit and clove. Great way to end the year!

Mr Porter: During New Year’s Eve you can dine in style at Mr Porter and at midnight the champagne is ready on the roof terrace with the best view of the big firework show over Amsterdam! There is a special New Year’s Eve menu where meat dishes are interspersed with vegetables.

Auberge: December 31, Auberge is open for lunch and dinner, until after 00:00 AM so you can start the new year with ‘oliebollen’ and good music! In terms of food it is a la carte and you can choose whatever you want! ;-)

Prinz Wolf: On New Year’s Eve you can cheers to the new year at Prinz Wolf, you’re welcome from noon to 1 PM. On January 1, Prinz Wolf will be open again with the regular menu from 6 PM to 11 PM. Or walk in (or book) from 3 PM for the 01-01-18 party with Bloody Mary shots, oysters, fries and various tasty bites (€ 1,-!).

The Butcher Social Club: To start the new year dancing in style, you can visit the Pacha on Tour at The Butcher Social Club during NYE. At 22:30 PM the DJs start to play but you can also choose to come in at 20:30 PM to fill your stomach with canapés and a walking dinner!
