Ciao tutti! Amsterdam East (or, more specifically, Watergraafsmeer) is now home to an authentic Italian restaurant. Allow yourself to experience the flavorful cuisine of Novi Amsterdam, rooted in the traditions of classic Italian cooking. Novi is where neighbours and families come together, ensuring a leisurely dining experience.

Why you want to visit Novi Amsterdam

If there’s one thing Italians do well (or actually, two), it’s indulging in long meals and enjoying food from their homeland. At Novi Amsterdam, this tradition continues, but not only among Italians.

Novi is a delightful place where you immediately feel welcome. The light interior with plenty of wood creates an inviting atmosphere and a relaxed tone. And that’s perfect because people of all ages can gather throughout the day at Novi. The owners have created a proper family restaurant, following Italian tradition. That means without too many rules or fuss. Just high-quality food and drinks, with plenty of room for conviviality and spontaneity. So, if the children are at school and you need a moment, Novi is the place to be. Or, if your little one is free on Wednesday afternoon, come together for a leisurely lunch.

Menu Novi Amsterdam

In the restaurant on Middenweg, the location formerly occupied by Café Cliché, they serve fresh Italian coffee and homemade focaccia during the day. In the evenings, a more traditional Italian menu takes centre stage. Expect flavorful dishes like melanzane alla parmigiana, shellfish with nduja, grilled octopus, pappardelle with ragu, and asparagus risotto. Larger dishes such as grilled seabream, saltimbocca, and Bistecca Fiorentina (priced per 100 grams) are also available. For desserts, indulge in unmistakable Italian classics like tiramisu and panna cotta – be sure to leave room for these and thank us later!
