Specialty coffee and Greek pastries: that is what they do at Alpha Deli. It is relaxed and warm there (thanks to the yellow walls!) and you can eat, among other things, Greek 'pies' with spinach, feta, leek and grilled chicken, or sourdough sandwiches with, for example, smoked cheese, salami and roasted bell pepper spread. And fun fact: when Alison Roman was on a trip to Amsterdam, she stopped by here too.

Salvo Basement on the Keizersgracht is the newest sibling of the well-known Salvo in Amsterdam West. Bordeaux's most delicious pastry is now freshly and artisanally made for you in the Jordaan district. At Les Petits Canelés, you'll find what might be the tastiest pastry you've ever tasted. We speak from experience and the rave reviews the place has already garnered in a short time. The coffee is just as good.

There is a sandwich shop on almost every street in Amsterdam. However, Sandwichbar Davies in the Jordaan is certainly worth a visit. David Baxter, the former chef at La Rive, finishes the sandwiches to perfection. There are only four sandwiches on the menu, but every sandwich is a feast for your taste buds. The ingredients are perfectly matched and form a delicious whole. At first glance, Davies might seem like a standard sandwich shop, but it surprises its visitors time and again with unique creations!

When the now mega-popular SAINT-JEAN was founded, its founders aimed to create the tastiest vegan croissants in Amsterdam. They succeeded: their cruffin became an instant hit. When the owners saw the opportunity to occupy the building directly across from their first location, they didn't hesitate. And so, SAINT-JEAN Deli was born. Enjoy natural wines, savory sandwiches, and their famous sweet treats, perhaps with a good cup of coffee.

It's probably a good thing there's always a long line at Chun in the Nine Streets. Otherwise, I'd be having breakfast here every day with their delicious brioche toast! If you ask me, these are quite possibly the best sandwiches you can get in Amsterdam right now. So my advice: get there before 10.00:XNUMX AM on weekends or during the week (when it's a bit less busy). It's worth the wait. Favorites on the menu are definitely the bulgogi and the shrimp toast. Order a homemade lemonade with it. They also have excellent coffee.

Good news for anyone who loves good matcha and juicy sandwiches, but doesn't fancy a TikTok queue. Chun recently opened a second location on Spuistraat, in the heart of the city center. As part of their "never change a winning team" philosophy, you'll find more matcha, the same beautiful interior, and an equally excellent menu. Let's hope the queues stay shorter.
Spuistraat 122, Amsterdam – chun-amsterdam.com
A shop dedicated to cheesecake. Some won't understand, while others will immediately call it heaven on earth. The latter is also true for the founder of Cheesecake Project Amsterdam, who ran a foodie Instagram account alongside his job in sports betting. He'd always been fascinated by food and couldn't wait to start his own business. With Cheesecake Project, that dream became a reality, right in the heart of the Jordaan.

LOT61 Amsterdam Central Station is a reality. And after years of poor coffee at Amsterdam Central Station, that's a very welcome development. Coffee connoisseurs in Amsterdam know there are a few places that never disappoint. Toki, Rumbaba, Skina, and of course, LOT61 are among them. The fact that LOT61 (located on Kinkerstraat for years now) has opened a brand-new location, near Amsterdam Central Station, is more than good news for all coffee snobs and commuters.

A delicious sourdough bakery—you don't have to be limited to the Pijp or Oud-West district anymore. Olaf Brood opened earlier this year in Oost (Dappermarkt neighborhood), and you simply must go. Everything here is excellent: from the sourdough bread to the filled focaccias, custard rolls, and croissants.

Your favorite spot in Amsterdam East for brunch, lunch, and snacks now also has a shop and a deli where you can find their classics to go. Think freshly baked scones, sandwiches, and cakes. MAS Atelier is a lovely bakery located where Rum Baba used to be, in Amsterdam East. So, on the corner of Pretoriusstraat, you can now find this fine sourdough bakery, which makes the best sourdough in the neighborhood from Wednesday through Saturday. And you can also get tasty croissants there.
Pretoriusstraat 33, Amsterdam – bakkerijmas.nl
Bakery MAS has coffee and sourdough (and a lovely terrace), and you can go there for breakfast, lunch, and drinks, as they also have wine. My personal favorite is the cheese baguette (well, simple but *good*).

The Genius brings a taste of Brabant to Amsterdam, and it's just as charming as it sounds. They proudly present the capital's most authentic sausage roll, complete with a perfectly seasoned sausage filling and a classic golden-brown, crispy dough. Sam's Coffee North Amsterdam is the second location for Sam's Koffie, which already has a location on Welnastraat in Oud-West. Opening a coffee shop in Noord is a different story than in Oud-West, the owners discovered. Sam's in Noord aims to be as inclusive as possible; no exorbitant prices or snobby attitudes, just good coffee and snacks at fair prices. A small cappuccino, for example, starts at €3,30, and a toasted sandwich for €6,50. That's very reasonable by Amsterdam standards.

Fonda Café Amsterdam is the newest hotspot at the Stedelijk Museum. This is remarkable, because you often don't have to have incredibly high expectations of a museum café. Good coffee is often more a matter of chance or a pleasant coincidence. That's not the case at Fonda, where the coffee, tea, and matcha are at their best. The bar area is located in the entrance hall on the ground floor and is open to everyone, whether you're visiting the museum or not. Fonda Café is on the first floor, near the building's iconic staircase. To visit the café, you do need a museum ticket, or of course, a Museum Card. Perfect for an afternoon filled with cinnamon rolls, semlas, and other Scandinavian treats. The coffee is definitely worth trying too; some even say it's some of the best in the city! When you consider that they combine this delicious food with a beautiful interior and a super friendly bartender, you'll immediately understand why this place is a surefire success!

Pastel de nata—a custard tart from the Lisbon area—is a famous snack in Portugal and beyond, and the Dutch are now hooked too. Mister NATA makes arguably the tastiest pastel de nata in Amsterdam—how could it be otherwise with a name like that?! On Van Woustraat in Amsterdam-Zuid and on Haarlemmerdijk in Amsterdam-Centrum, the staff prepares these delicacies fresh every day, ensuring they're at their crispiest.

On the edge of the Rivierenbuurt neighborhood (Amsterdam South), you'll find a great coffee shop: Mokafe. In the building formerly occupied by Lunchroom Bruist, you can now enjoy breakfast, lunch, and specialty coffee, as well as fresh sourdough bread and homemade pastries. It's a cozy spot that's also a great place for a quick weekend breakfast with the kids.

One of the best sandwiches in De Pijp? In our opinion, it's Broodje Gerard Amsterdam. An all-day spot on Gerard Doustraat (in the heart of De Pijp), where you can get your morning coffee, read and buy magazines, and of course, enjoy a classic "Broodje Gerard."
