18 X new hotspots on Bali to get on your radar

10 August 2017

this is where you wanna go this summer according to the locals!

Bali remains one of my favourite islands that I come back to almost every year. Just like Ibiza by the way! Earlier this summer I already made a post of all the (new) hotspots that not-to-miss island has to offer. I was actually going to the dream destination that is Bali this summer to visit my friend Johanna, who has been living there for over five years already. Which is the perfect excuse for me to go there as often as I can!

Luckily my friend keeps me updated on the newest hotspots in Bali every month. Because I know lots of Your Little Black Book followers are going to Bali this summer I’ve already made a top list with the best and newest hotspots not to miss out on during your next trip to this paradise. Good news if you haven’t booked yet, but you would love to go to Bali. Because below in this post you’ll read how you can win a trip to Bali for two!

18 X new hotspots in Bali not to miss

Bali will never bore me. And I can honestly say that I still enjoy my yearly visits to the all-time favourites like Crate Café, Potatohead (which is, by the way, also in Hong Kong now!) and SisterFields. But just like it is in Amsterdam, there are always so many new hotspots popping up in Bali. That’s why my friend Johanna and I have put a top list together for you that you can read below. Have fun!

Panama Kitchen & Pool: So many beach clubs have open its doors in Bali lately and Panama Kitchen & Pool is one of those. This beach club is situated next to Finns Beach Club (more on that later!). With an outdoor bar, a pool to relax at and a café where you can grab a bite. Go there around brunch time and make sure to order the Eggs Benedict!

TIP: Keep in mind that the most beach clubs in Bali have a ‘minimum spending’ amount. These are generally not that bad and you’ll easily get to that amount if you spend the entire day there drinking and eating, while tanning on your bed and enjoying the great view.

Moana Fish Eatery: The poké bowl trend has also reached Bali and one of the nicest places to enjoy this dish is at Moana in Batu Bolong. This new hotspot will settle all your poké bowl cravings from 11AM till 11pm.

Kynd Community: This vegan hotspot opens as early as 6AM which makes it a perfect place for the early birds among us. It closes at 4PM and until then it’s the perfect spot for healthy vegan dishes, like bowls, toasts and waffles.

40 Thieves: This hotspot in Seminyak is a favourite when it comes to cocktail drinking in the late hours. So first watch the sunset on the beach, go for a dance at a pool party and afterwards go for a last round to the hipster cocktail bar 40 Thieves.

La Cabina: This hotspot in Batu Belig is so new that the website is not really online yet. A pool club with an awesome interior (bright pink walls, tropical plants and an Instagram worthy pool). You can come here early for breakfast and enjoy the first sun rays and make sure to check their Facebook page for the best parties that are regularly held here. One of the most popular new hotspots of the moment in Bali.

Seasalt restaurant: This new hotspot belongs to the luxurious Alila hotel in Seminyak. Unless you have a real well-paying job, the odds of spending the night here are slim to none, but luckily you can also come here for some delicious food. The brunch during the weekends is without a doubt one of the most popular upscale brunches of the island at the moment! Tip: ask for a table on the ends of the terrace in order to enjoy the best ocean view.

Milk & Madu: Milk & Madu is the perfect place for an all day breakfast. So it doesn’t really matter how crazy the night before got, you can come in here all day for burgers, smoothies, wraps, bowls and other comfort food!

The Shady Shack: Ever since the opening this new hotspot in Batu Bolong, Bali, is immensely popular. One of the reasons to keep coming back here is the incredibly tasty, but above all very healthy food. Like acai bowls, delicious salads and poached eggs on avocado toast. Also a great hotspot in Bali to have brunch on the weekends!

The Lawn: The Lawn is another popular beach club in Batu Bolong, near Canggu. With a great infinity pool that has a view of the ocean, and a large garden that’s perfect for watching the sunset from your beanbag. They also serve delicious food and the dishes on the menu are super healthy!

Da Maria: You go to Da Maria in Seminyak for two things. Pizza and cocktails! The interior of this hotspot is light and cheerful. WIth a bright yellow bar, blue walls and white tables. The menu is Italian and although they serve other dishes and pasta the pizza Melanzane with eggplant is definitely a recommendation. Tip: later in the evening you can also come here for some disco tunes and late night pizza!

7 Elephant: If you happen to be in Bali and feel like going for an evening full of techno and house 7 Elephant is the way to go. This is the place where everyone goes to who’s in for an afterparty till the early morning, after the beach clubs close its doors. Want to know who’s DJing? Check their Facebook page!
Jl Petitenget, Badung, Bali – Only a Facebook page

Gypsy Bali: Around the corner from Crate Cafe in Canggu (a classic for coffee, juices and breakfast) Gypsy has opened its doors last year. Another great spot for breakfast! They serve this till 3PM by the way, but you’re also welcome for dinner anytime after that. The dishes on the menu are prepared with local ingredients and the sea platter that you can share is a must try if you feel like having an extensive dinner.

Mrs. Sippy: Pool venues are hot in Bali and certainly when their styled in an 70ies beach way like La Cabina and Mrs. Sippy. It’s the place to be from 8AM till midnight for some ultimate pool chilling. You don’t have to leave your sun bed all day, because there’s a cute restaurant on the spot for the needed pool bites. Tip: during the weekends you can book a bottemless brunch at this hotspot in Bali. That means free flow of Coca Cola, but also of cocktails and dishes like a bacon and egg pizza. Yes please!

Peloton Supershop: Hipster bikes hanging on the walls that you can buy and in the café delicious vegan dishes. At this new hotspot in Bali they have given the dishes on the menu comical names like Biker Bowl and Pedal Powered Pancakes!

Barbacoa: This restaurant in Bali is all about barbecue food. And by that we don’t mean ordinary barbecue food, but next level grilled food that’s prepared above a wood fire. The interior is warm and modern and it reminds me most of a Spanish gastro bar. The burrata and the spare ribs are my recommendations!

Ji restaurant: This restaurant in Batu Bolong, near Canggu, is situated in an old temple from 1706 and the location alone is worth a visit. The menu is full of Asian fusion dishes, great wines and an eloborate list of several kinds of sake. Fun fact: this temple used to be situated in Java but it almost got destroyed there and they transported it to Bali.

Cuca:  This fine dining restaurant is situated in Jimbaran. You might know this place from the fish restaurants at the beach, but if you’re looking to have a culinary evening of high quality, Cuca is the perfect place. They serve dishes here that are made for shared dining, with ingredients from the land, sea and the farm. The Chef Tasting Menu is recommended!
Jl. Yoga Perkanthi, Jimbaran, Bali – cucaflavor.com

Ulekan: Chances are that when you’re going to have dinner at Ulekan you’d rather order all the dishes from the menu. It’s the right address when it comes to Indonesian food, but in a trendy interior. Rotan furniture, mosaic tiles on the floors and lots of wood. The sate at this new hotspot is my recommendation!
