12 x the best new coffee bars in amsterdam of 2017

The Maker CaféThis new coffee spot in Amsterdam is not only ideal for the flex workers, they also serve great coffee here. The Maker Café can be found in the Foodhallen in the West of Amsterdam. Besides good coffee they also serve some tasty sweets, like the sticky toffee. Yum! Hannie Dankbaarpassage 39, Amsterdam –

Miss Louisa Coffee & BeignetsIn the Kimpton De Witt Hotel you can find coffee hotspot Miss Louisa Coffee & Beignets. Here you can get the best coffee and beignets to go. A good spot to know whenever you’re in the centre of Amsterdam and you’re in a hurry. You can also stop by before you go to work, as they open as early as 6.30AM.
Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 5, Amsterdam – website

Bistro ZebraIn the East of Amsterdam on the Valentijnkade has Bistro Zebra opened its doors in 2017. Not only is it a coffee place, but also a very good restaurant! During the day you can come here for a cup of coffee that has been brewed by locally roasted beans. And not only the coffee beans are local, the menu of Bistro Zebra is full of dishes prepared with local products. Yummy!
Valentijnkade 34, Amsterdam –

PlukYES, our favourite spot in the Nine Streets has a second location. They already have a location in the Reestraat, but since 2017 Pluk is also in the Berenstraat. And coincidence may be that that’s just around the corner of our office ;-) Besides a coffee spot this hotspot is also perfect for lunch or breakfast. And of course I can never let the opportunity slide to buy some of the great accessories. Berenstraat 19, Amsterdam –

House of WattIn the fall of 2017 the House of Watt has opened its doors. This is not only a lovely coffee spot in Amsterdam, but also a great place for flex workers, as it’s situated in a former hotel lobby. Besides that it’s perfect for some quiet working is also just a great place for coffee with friends in the area of the Amstelstation, or to get a (affordable) lunch.
James Wattstraat 73, Amsterdam –

The Corner Bakery

The Corner BakeryThis spot in the South of Amsterdam has been a favourite for quite a while, but they’ve opened a second location in 2017 at the World Fashion Center. And what’s extra fun (and delicious ;-) ): they sell the pies from Life of Pie here! They look too good to let them slip… A good cup of coffee is also possible in this lunch and coffee spot in Amsterdam, but for the real sweet tooths the freak shake is a must.
Koningin Wilhelminaplein 60, Amsterdam – Facebook page

Ox and BucksThis coffee place on the Zuidas in Amsterdam is perfect for a good cup of coffee in the morning, but also for a (business) lunch meeting. Also if you’re not working on the Zuidas this is a great spot in Amsterdam to go to, just like these other hotspots on the Zuidas in Amsterdam. Strawinskylaan 1, Amsterdam –

Lunchroom EerlijkHonest coffee and more great food at Lunchroom Eerlijk. This new coffee place in Amsterdam on the Weesperstraat is open for breakfast and lunch. During the weekend they also serve high tea, nice! As the name might suggest they work with honest and pure products here and it shows in the menu. Fun detail: the chicken that lay the eggs can be followed through a webcam. Weesperstraat 101a, Amsterdam –

Hoed & KrelisHoed & Krelis has opened its restaurant in 2017 on the corner of the Ferdinand Bolstraat in Amsterdam. In the morning and during the day it’s a very nice spot if you’re looking for a coffee place where you can also have a delicious lunch prepared with sustainable, local products. The interior is also welcoming and cozy, and of course you can go shopping after your coffee on the Albert Cuyp or the Gerard Doustraat!

Park Café Restaurant

Park Café RestaurantCoffee with a view at Park Café Restaurant at Hotel Arena. The place has been rebuilt – and it’s quite the transformation! From early in the morning you can get breakfast here or just a good cup of coffee, to a great dinner in the evening. The interior is really light and the view through the large windows is stunning, but when the weather’s nice you can have an even better seat on the terrace with a view of the park.
‘s-Gravezandestraat 55, Amsterdam –

Selma’sCute coffee place in Amsterdam that mostly will make the sweet tooths really happy. Because here you can order all sorts of sweets with your coffee: cinnamon buns, coffee buns and the chocolate balls are too good to miss out on. It’s a ‘Nordic bakery’ so all the products are Scandinavian goods. Also the savory dishes originate from Scandinavia, like the burger of moose that you can order for lunch.
Jan van Galenstraat 70h, Amsterdam – Facebook page

Lavinia Good FoodThis hotspot at the Amstelveenseweg is so much more than just a coffee spot in Amsterdam, because the lunch here is delicious. Something for everyone: the vegans among us also have lots of options at Lavinia Good Food. Big plus is that they open as early as 7.30AM so perfect for a good wake up call with a great cup of coffee.
