When I think of Austria , I think of skiing and, of course, après-ski. There is certainly no shortage of beautiful ski resorts in this country. That is very nice, because not every ski resort appeals to everyone. While one person is looking for a challenge, another finds the black runs a bit too difficult. No idea where to go? In this overview, we have listed the most beautiful winter sports resorts in Austria for you. Have fun!

You certainly don't have to worry about the amount of snow that falls here, as Ski Alberg is so popular, in part, because of the sheer volume of snow that falls here every year. For a bit of socializing, head to the village of Sankt Anton; there's plenty to do there if you don't feel like hitting the slopes.

Zillertal

In Tyrol, you'll find the Zillertal, a popular destination among the Dutch. Zillertal boasts five ski areas, with a total of over 400 meters of slopes. After a day of skiing, be sure to head to the village of Gerlos for the ultimate après-ski experience. You simply must experience it!

Kitzbühel

You might know this ski area for the Hahnenkamm: this mountain hosts the world-famous Hahnenkamm Race. While it's a great destination for high-level skiers, Kitzbühel is also an excellent choice for beginners, with no shortage of blue slopes.

Silvretta Arena Ischgl

The Austrian town of Ischgl, together with the Swiss town of Samnaun, forms the popular winter sports destination Silvretta Arena. The ski area is enormous, and because it's so high up, you're almost guaranteed good snow conditions. Do you, like me, love good food? There are plenty of excellent restaurants in this area. Consists of 25 different winter sports resorts, spread across five separate ski areas. Because the area is so large, you'll find something for everyone: from large towns with plenty to do to charming villages nestled in the mountains. Highly recommended!
