Meatless District Amsterdam: the coolest vegan restaurant in the city

Meatless District Amsterdam is now open in the West

We previously wrote about the arrival of Meatless District in Amsterdam, and now this hotspot has finally opened its doors! At Bilderdijkstraat 65, you can now enjoy a delicious vegetarian/vegan breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks! This has made Bilderdijkstraat even more fun. Further on, Happyhappyjoyjoy, Salad & the City, DuCap and also House of Lopez Just around the corner. We think that's great!

But back to Meatless District. After a busy two-month renovation, they finally opened their doors to the public last weekend. We sat down for lunch and dinner, and the concept is immediately clear upon entering. This vegan spot is inspired by the Meatpacking District in New York. So, it's overloaded with industrial elements. But not overdone, because the space looks sleek and clean. And spacious, especially very spacious. We love it!

And that brings me straight to the recipes. A meal salad is a real meal here. And we suspect you won't find anything cleaner than this anywhere in Amsterdam ;-) Because the Meatless District menu features dishes without meat and dairy. Made with ingredients from local suppliers. So, super healthy too!

For breakfast you can also order smoothie bowls (with banana, cherries and blackberries) and fruit bowls (with coconut yoghurt) here. tofu scramble Take it with turmeric and lemon juice. Mmm! Lunch is just as original. How about croquettes from the vegetarian butcher on spelt bread or the banana toastie with chocolate spread and peanut butter? The artichoke sandwich is also highly recommended. Anne went for the rainbow salad: quinoa, baby spinach, broccoli, sweet potato, avocado, and cherry tomatoes. A delicious meal!

But our golden tip is perhaps the MD Burger: grilled eggplant, gherkin, tomato, red onion, lamb's lettuce served with farmer's fries and mayonnaise. Did you know that there is also vegan Wine exists? Definitely order a glass with your meal! Because yes, in a vegan restaurant, drinking is allowed ;-)
