meatless district amsterdam is ready to serve you!

Earlier, we wrote about the coming Meatless District Amsterdam and now this spot has fi-nal-ly opened its doors! From now on you can go to the Bilderdijkstraat 65 for the most delicious vega(n) breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks! And that means the Bilderdijk is getting better and better with Happyhappyjoyjoy, Salad & the City, DuCap and Huis van Lopez around the corner. Something we like!

But back to Meatless District Amsterdam. Last weekend, after two busy months of renovations they could finally open their doors for the public. We dropped by for lunch slash dinner and as soon as we entered, the concept was clear to us. This vegan spot is inspired by the Meatpacking District in New York. So overloaded with industrial elements. But not too excessive, because the place still looks sober and clean. And spacious, very spacious. We love!

And that brings me to the dishes. The dishes here are ‘spacious’ as well. A meal salad truly is a meal here. And you won’t find any cleaner meals in Amsterdam then here. Because on the menu of Meatless District are only dishes without meat and dairy. Prepared with products of local suppliers. So super healthy as well!

Besides smoothie bowls (with banana, cherry and blackberry) and fruit bowls (with coconut yoghurt) you can also go for scrammble tofu with turmeric and lemon juice. Mmm! Lunch is equally original. How about croquettes of the vegetarian butcher on spelled bread or banana sandwich with chocolate spread and peanut butter? The artichoke sandwich is highly recommended as well ;-) Anne went for the rainbow salad: quinoa, baby spinach, broccoli, sweet potato, avocado and cherry tomatoes. A delicious meal!

But our golden tip is perhaps the MD Burger: grilled eggplant, cucumber, tomato, red onion, lettuce served with farmer fries and mayonnaise. Did you know that there is also vegan wine? Just order one along with your meal. Because yes, also vegans may cheers!
