Classic ceviche, tuna tostada and special quesadillas: the average lover of Mexican cuisine will not be disappointed at the cozy Masmais Marisqueria in Amsterdam-West. Discover the new Mexican hotspot of Amsterdam-West.
Waarom je Masmais Marisqueria in Amsterdam-West een bezoek wilt brengen
There is no shortage of Mexican restaurants in our capital: in Amsterdam North, Coba and Bacalar have long held sway, and in Amsterdam-West, MasMais Marisquaria more recently joined ‘brother’ MasMais Taqueria, also located in this part of the city. For their latest acquisition, owners Mike van Kruchten and Jim van de Ven visited Mexico several times, where they were inundated with high-quality fish dishes, excellent cocktails and a relaxed atmosphere. They ultimately agreed: such a concept was still missing in Amsterdam.
And so it happened: a building was quickly found, and they did not have to argue long about the furnishings. The interior is pleasant, contains a lot of wood, and has a bright blue bar as a real eye-catcher. It makes this Marisqueria a place where you feel like you are abroad for a moment, but after which you get on your bike home. Want to escape the hustle and bustle of the day with exceptional food and matching cocktails? You don’t have to tell us twice.
Menu Masmais Marisqueria in Amsterdam-West
The menu of MasMais Marisqueria revolves entirely around Mexican seafood but also has several vegetarian options, such as an oyster mushroom ceviche (very original and delicious), quesadilla with artichoke (highly recommended) and one with pumpkin. Regarding fish, the owners provide a mix of Mexican toppers and local catch. The sea bream on the grill is perfectly seasoned and grilled and comes with different types of beans, lime, avocado, and several tasty salsas. The fried eggplant is also praised by regular customers at this Mexican hotspot for a reason.
You’ve come to the right place for authentic Mexican food of high quality. The relaxed setting and laid-back atmosphere make MasMais Mariqueria a unique catering concept in Amsterdam. As far as we are concerned, there are more than enough reasons for a visit.
