On Instagram I follow the #MarrakechAnd while following a destination hashtag normally requires wading through the ugly photos, in Marrakech everything looks beautiful. I love Africa, thrive in a bustling city, love markets and bargaining, rooftops for tea, colorful tiles, and the aroma of spices. I appreciate oases of tranquility amidst the bustle of a city. I think Marrakech, its most beautiful riads, and I are a match made in heaven… What's in my Little Black Book can be found in this Morocco Travel Guide.

**Due to COVID-19, souvenirs are now available in bulk ❄️ Note to self: always keep room in your suitcase for 'souvenirs'. During my ski trip to Méribel, I popped into the local pharmacy just before leaving, and these are the beauty products I took home. I've tested them extensively and they're all more than YLBB-approved. Save them for your next trip to France (or your online beauty store). Which souvenirs always make it back in your suitcase? I'm curious! ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck PS: Follow @yourlbb for tons of tips to make the most of your free time — from travel tips to travel guides and more.

19 tips for Marrakech / Morocco that you want to know

Know where to go: Eat and drink on the rooftops and hidden gardens in the medina. I already have a long list of restaurants I definitely want to visit for mint tea and tagines: cross-eyedbair, Latitude31, Nomad, Le Jardin, Café Des Epices, and at riad El Fenn You can not only stay overnight but also enjoy delicious food! Which other riads should I stay in? Riad Yasmine, Riad BE en Riad Bab54.

Staying in the Sahara: Something that's at least as high on my bucket list as visiting Marrakech itself is staying in a tented camp in the Sahara outside the city. The place I want to do that? Without a doubt, at Scarabeo camp or the less known Terre des EtoilesIn fact, I wouldn't book my plane ticket until I was sure they had room!

See the famous highlights: As with every first time in a (new to me) city, I make sure I see the highlights. From wandering around Jemaa el-Fnaa square and through the Jardins Majorelle to the Bahia Palace and a visit to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum (one of my favorite designers!).

Campervan Trip: Traveling through Morocco in a campervan might not be the first thing you think of, but that's precisely what makes it so special. My brother did it. I'd love to combine our trip to Marrakech with two nights in the bohemian coastal town of Essaouira. And someday I'll also follow his campervan route from Marrakech through the beautiful Atlas Mountains.

Home shopping in the souks: I already know I'll be going to Marrakech with an empty suitcase
I'll be returning with a suitcase full of new home acquisitions. From pottery to rugs and from leather babouches (the pointed Moroccan shoes) to lanterns. I'll be spending at least a few days here. Concept store 33 Street I certainly won't skip Majorelle either. 33RUEMAJORELLE.COM
