6 Paris Flea Markets to Keep on Your Radar

Paul Bert Serpette

Marché Serpette is Paris's hippest market right now, where you can find beautiful items from around 130 vendors. Think furniture from 1900 to 1940, master paintings, books, vintage clothing, and even bronze statues from the time of Napoleon III. The perfect market for a sunny afternoon. Get browsing!
110 Rue des Rosiers, Paris, France

Book stalls on the Seine

True bookworms among us will be in their element along the Seine. Here you can stroll for miles past books, prints, magazines, and paintings.
Seine, Paris, France

The Puces de Montreuil

A small but delightful flea market and food street in the east of Paris. In other words, two birds with one stone. Hunt for gems at the flea market and then pop into a cozy restaurant for a bite to eat and a drink. P.S.: Bargaining is a must at this market; it's a sport everyone practices here.

Le Marché Aux Puces de Saint-Ouen

It's the world's largest flea market where you'll find anything but "junk." The market consists of about 15 markets spread across various streets, squares, and market halls around Rue des Rosiers, on the border of arrondissements 17 and 18. Visit the markets on Rue de Rosiers, where you can find Marché Malassis and pick up furniture, vintage cameras, and toys, among other things. At Marché Dauphine and Marché Biron, you'll find mainly antique furniture, books, art, and ceramics. For antiques and curiosities from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, head to Le Marché Aux Puces de Saint-Ouen in Paris. However, the vendors know the value of their wares, so finding bargains is tricky. You can always try haggling, though.

On weekends, you can visit the Porte de Vances flea market, where you can snag a wide variety of items at a great price. Think vintage clothing, 19th-century clocks, silver-plated cutlery, carpets, and ceramics. Tip: try bargaining in French; you'll be amazed at the difference it makes. And go early to ensure you don't miss out on the best items.
14 Avenue Georges Lafenestre, Paris, France

Vernaison Market

This market has been around since 1920 and is still a favorite among true window shoppers. It's nestled in a maze of narrow streets and trees that provide shade in sunny weather. At over 300 stalls, you'll find a wide variety of jewelry, furniture, dolls, and books. Keep your eyes peeled for those special gems you're looking for.

2 X Organic Markets: Markets in Paris to Have on Your Radar

Marché Biologique des Batignolles

Every Saturday, you can visit this organic market in the 8th arrondissement. It's a local favorite, and we have to admit, it's definitely worth a visit. It's not the kind of market where vendors shout about their latest great deal. The atmosphere is calm and friendly. You can stock up on all your daily groceries, but also find complete meals, a variety of (gluten-free) breads, and even organic beauty products, plants, and clothing.
34 Boulevard des Batignolles, Paris, France

Marché Biologique Raspail

On Sundays, you can head to the Raspail Biomarket in the 6th arrondissement. Just like at the Batignolles Biomarket, you'll find the best fresh organic produce and even non-food items here. It's the perfect and most popular market if you're looking for snacks and dishes to enjoy in the park or for lunch at work.
Rue du Cherche-midi – Rue de Rennes, Paris, France

8 Food Markets and Streets in Paris to Keep on Your Radar

Aligre market

A beautiful indoor and outdoor market in the 12th arrondissement where you can pick up fresh ingredients for your lunch every morning throughout the week. Butchers, sausage makers, caterers, greengrocers, fishmongers, cheese and wine merchants, and liquor stores—you can find absolutely everything here. The market and the street full of cozy cafés are still relatively unknown to tourists, especially early in the morning. So, set your alarm and be there early!
Place d'Aligre, Paris, France

Passy Market

In the west of Paris, in the 16th arrondissement, you'll find the Marché de Passy. A market hall that caters to the somewhat affluent Parisians. Here you can find the best lobsters and oysters, and we happen to find them absolutely delicious.
Place de Passy, Paris, France

Secret Market

This market hall has existed since 1860 and is a beautiful sight thanks to its glass and metal roof. A wide variety of flowers and plants are sold at the market, making it a photogenic location.
Avenue Secrétan, Paris, France

Rungis

A market that began in the 12th century as a city market in Paris, Les Halles, has since grown into the largest fresh produce market in Europe. Rungis covers an area of approximately 232 hectares, where 1,5 million tons of meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, and other fresh produce are sold annually. A feast for the eyes, and be sure to come and taste!
1 Rue de la Tour, Paris, France

Bastille Market

This market is also the place to be for the best fresh produce, such as vegetables, fish, meat, and cheese. Go early in the morning when it's not too busy, or around 13 p.m. to be the first to snag the stallholders' bargains. After your stroll through the market, enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace at Place de la Bastille.
8 Boulevard Richard Lenoir, Paris, France

Marche des Enfants Rouges

In the Marais, you'll find a covered market where you'll love popping in during your shopping spree for fresh fruit, bread, or a slice of cheese. Need a good lunch? Enjoy dishes made with fresh ingredients from the market at the improvised food stalls. You'll instantly feel like a true Parisian there.
39 Rue de Bretagne, Paris, France – Facebook Page

Rue Daguerre

A street bustling with activity day and night. During the day, you can enjoy all the fresh produce available at the market, such as seafood, cheese, and vegetables, as well as chocolate and the finest wines. In the evening, you can relax at the countless restaurants and cafés lining this street. Greek, Moroccan, Japanese, Vietnamese—whatever you're in the mood for, you'll find it on Rue Daguerre. During the winter months, the street is adorned with thousands of lights, making an evening stroll even more romantic.
Rue Daguerre, Paris, France

Rue Mouffetard Market

This street is located in one of Paris's most romantic neighborhoods. It's packed with charming boutiques, shops, and food stalls, and boasts a beautiful church. During the day, you can do your daily grocery shopping at the market, find everything you need for a picnic, or even enjoy a good cup of coffee to wake up. Locals say you can get the best crêpe in Paris at Petit Grec. Time to try it!
