Maison Premiere: Little gem in Williamsburg
This has got to be the most romantic place we’ve seen so far, Maison Premiere. When we pass it at around 3.30 pm, the line is already huge. And they aren’t even open yet. When we bike back at around 9 pm, the wait is still 1 hour. No problem. It’s just that unfortunately I somehow told the hostess the wrong number (who? Me? Sounds nothing like me…) so when we get back an hour and a half later we still have to wait 15 minutes. But I’m telling you, it is worth the wait.
Ah… This place. So classy. What a cozy-chique atmosphere! We get the best spot in the garden.
The list of oysters is huge (30 varieties). Will HAVE to come back at happy hour (M-F 4-7 pm)! We’re having rib-eye with eggplant and okra and lobster with smoked corn and sweetbreads (is it really dumb that I thought ‘sweetbread’ would be something different? Super tasteful anyway). Both ridiculously good! I honestly think everybody should go here at least once. Try to get a spot outside (and use mosquito spray) while the weather is still nice.
