Lovers of Mediterranean cuisine, take note! Luz Restobar Amsterdam brings you the flavours of the Méditerranée, but right in the heart of the Amsterdam Pijp. In short, it’s a hotspot you must know if you love Southern European cuisine (and who doesn’t?!).
Atmosphere and interior at Luz Restobar Amsterdam
Luz Restobar Amsterdam is one of those places you don’t visit just once. Once you’ve stepped through the door, you know this will be your new place to go. The atmosphere is cosy, and the staff let you experience genuine Southern European hospitality – as if the flavours weren’t enough.
In terms of interior, Luz Restobar has it all: marble tables, dark wood and wine-red walls. It is as if you’re in a chic pub meets Parisian restaurant, with a touch of Southern Europe.
Dishes and menu at Luz Restobar
Now, the dishes at this restaurant are finger-licking good. And it’s pretty hard to choose, as there is an extensive menu with many good dishes. Shared dining is the best option, and luckily, most dishes are perfect for that. A few of our favourites are the grilled aubergine with feta (always good!), the tuna tataki (always good) and the croquetas de bacalao. Would you prefer a dish for yourself? Luz has got you covered. The menu includes several rotating dishes, including the pasta of the week and the fish of the day, which the chef gets fresh every day at the Albert Cuyp market. A dish to return for is the pasta Luz, a chef’s speciality that consists of pasta in a bisque. Luz is open five days a week from 1:00 PM. During the day, you can enjoy a fine selection of bites and good coffee, just like the Italians drink it.
Then, the wines: there are plenty. But even the house white – a Weissburgunder – pairs perfectly with many dishes. Another must-try drink is the Luz Limoncello Spritz – a homemade cocktail that will blow you away. It’s a great start or end to the evening.
