Loetje

It doesn’t get much closer to Central Station than this, as you’ll find Loetje at the front of Stationsplein. It’s already the eighth location, and you know what to expect: the best steak in Amsterdam. But classic lunch dishes include club sandwiches, toasties, and filled rolls.

At Gebroeders Niemeijer, you don’t just get the best croissants in Amsterdam (great for lunch too), but they also have delicious filled rolls – all made in their own bakery. And while you’re there, why not take a loaf of bread home too?

Also on Zeedijk: Kaap & Tein. It’s a place that feels like an extension of your home; it’s that cosy. From noon, you can go there for classics with a twist: from a good bisque to a toastie with kimchi or a salad with smoked salmon.

Another gem close to Central Station: Hannekes Boom. Think of it as a beach oasis by the IJ river, because at Hannekes Boom you won’t notice any of the hustle and bustle around the station. There is a great atmosphere, the lunch is affordable, and you’re back on the platform within a 10-minute walk.
