Of course, the YourLBB team is a bit biased, but we think there's nothing better than a delicious lunch out. Lunch and dinner are the new going out, they say, and we're here for it. Add to that the fact that you can find the best hotspots in Amsterdam North You get it: for a good mid-day break, head to Amsterdam-Noord for lunch. Below are our favorite spots – tried and tested (and you'll see us there often).
Don't expect pizzas you see everywhere else at Europizza – they serve the tastiest pizzas with local and original toppings. If you don't fancy a whole pizza for lunch, they also have plenty of shared dining options. But trust us: you absolutely have to try a pizza here.

Amsterdam North Nowadays, it's home to a number of trendy specialty coffee shops. NO-YUSU Amsterdam (NO stands for North) is one of the new additions to this list. As you might imagine, NO-YUSU is a sibling of the popular YUSU in Amsterdam East. They serve sandwiches of the day, but their cakes and pastries are also perfect for lunch.

Things are getting better and better around Papaverhoek! Café Soleil Amsterdam, a delightful Mediterranean spot focusing on excellent comfort food, is one of the great spots to stop by for lunch (and breakfast too, if you're feeling fancy). Our favorites: the piperade omelet and the Soleil sandwich.

Metro is easily one of the best new restaurants in Amsterdam-Noord. And the good news: they have their own bakery and are therefore open early every day. The best time to visit is around lunchtime! From noon onwards, they offer delicious dishes on their changing menu. And once you're hooked, you're guaranteed to come back.

At Café Cress, they do things a little differently. Owner Cyril Martineau met partners Jeffrey Klepper and Niamh Groentjes at their previous employer, Floreyn, on Albert Cuypstraat. Despite a completely different location, Cyril still sources all his ingredients fresh from the Albert Cuyp Market every morning. The menu (which changes every two weeks) includes toast with toppings like tuna melt, cress croque, and a brioche of the week. Be sure to save room for the vanilla tarte tatin.

Café Modern is a great place for lunch on the weekend. Sometimes they offer an Italian lunch that you can reserve in advance, but you can usually just drop in. A bonus: there's a space for private dining in the old vault of the building.

This restaurant is easily accessible from the ferry on the IJ. The interior is reminiscent of a classic Amsterdam café, but with a modern twist. The homey atmosphere is also evident in the dishes. The entire menu is based on family recipes, and each dish is packed with flavor. Perfect for a hearty lunch.

Helling 7 Amsterdam: who hasn't heard of this place by now? A huge terrace, a constantly changing menu, and the most exciting view in Amsterdam-Noord. Because terrace lovers are in luck! Not only do you have a view of the IJ River, but also of the still-active shipbuilding shed. You get the idea: if you sit here during the day, there's plenty to see.
