The founders of Amsterdam’s beer brand, Lowlander, aimed to create a ‘botanical heaven’ on the menu, aligning with their ever-popular drinks. Everything the natural world offers at the new Lowlander Botanical Bar & Restaurant in Amsterdam North takes center stage. Imagine herbs, plants, vegetables, and fruits – even the interior design revolves around natural elements. In short, it’s the new hotspot in Amsterdam North, especially considering its fantastic terrace.
Lowlander Botanical Bar & Restaurant
By the waters of the Gedempt Hamerkanaal, a new hotspot resides within the old shipyard warehouse that Stork once occupied. Introducing Lowlander Botanical Bar & Restaurant – the new venue for lunch and dinner where beer takes the spotlight. But before you exit, the food plays an equally significant role, carefully crafted for your delight.

Menu Lowlander Bar & Restaurant
The menu at Lowlander Amsterdam is diverse and original. Or, as they put it, a surprising twist on familiar classics. The chefs firmly believe that even the simplest ingredients become extraordinary with the right attention, love, and creativity. And they excel at that in the Lowlander kitchen. The beet Wellington, jackfruit rendang, and daytime kebab are vegetarian, but the eggplant steak can also be ordered as a ‘real steak.’
If you think you’ll leave with many alcoholic indulgences under your belt – after all, it’s about beer – you’re mistaken. For various dishes (like the artichoke hearts and confit potato terrine), non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beers are recommended. There’s also plenty of choice for non-beer lovers: botanical sodas, different lemonades, kombuchas, juices, and an extensive range of coffee and tea. And thus, Lowlander caters to every taste.

Interior Lowlander
Owner Frederik Kampman is proud that nothing you see at Lowlander is ‘brand new.’ He’s referring to the interior, which he scoured through flea markets and vintage stores to find. It was a scavenger hunt for a good cause: everything you see is sustainable and fits perfectly. A wooden table from India, a communal bench from a Dutch church; on one hand, they contrast; on the other, they form a harmonious picture. And then there’s the terrace: it’s amazing and worth seeing with your own eyes. Off to Amsterdam North, you go.
