Road trip Netherlands: 7 X stays in nature, from luxury to glamping

Are you ready for a new season of exploring the most beautiful things the Netherlands has to offer by car? While I absolutely love city breaks, I also love getting out into nature for a weekend getaway (especially these days). That's why I'm excited to share a few favorites for you, where you can completely unwind. Not too far to drive, but still get away from it all! Perfect for an active weekend getaway that gets you outdoors. Take a long walk every day in the woods or through the meadows, tour the beautiful Dutch countryside, discover new provinces (I really need to go back to Friesland sometime!), and enjoy a delicious dinner. Want to join me on a mini road trip through the Netherlands?

Come with me to get breakfast in Taipei 🥢 Straight from the airport to this little spot to taste soup dumplings and so much more! That's what I call a soft landing 😉
Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away. During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies alike, where there is plenty to do. · A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea. · Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round. · Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting. · Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold now, but there is plenty to do. · The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!). Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure. ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck { In this post, I share tips for the Ebro Delta in Spain (Delta de l'Ebre). PUUR JONNIE, an ode to Jonnie Boer. Today I had the honor of being at @delibrijezwolle for the book launch of @jonnie_en_therese. I spent the entire evening reading and browsing. WHAT A BOOK. What stories. WHAT AN ODE. Love, Nature, Pioneer, Fatherhood, Music, Jonnie's Foundation, Friendship, Suppliers, Local products, Relaxation, Entrepreneurship, Humor & The pure human being. Everything is covered, beautifully written by @joel.broekaert. With contributions from, among others, @nelsontanate, @rekkebus, @ronblaauwtje, @jorisbijdendijk, @sidney_schutte & @hvw043. Thanks for the wonderful afternoon @jonnie_en_therese 💚 PUUR JONNIE, Available from April 14 at your local bookstore (and online) 🖊️ @anne_de_buck
This is your ticket to Japan without taking a plane 🥢 @tewatashi.ams in De Pijp serves an authentic Edo-Mae Sushi Experience and is super consistent in their quality. It's the place we keep going back to when we have something to celebrate <3. In this video I'm sharing the 2 hour experience in 60 seconds. Still dreaming about the buttery ika nigiri. 🤤 ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck { one of the best authentic Japanese restaurants in Amsterdam serving premium sushi omakase in De Pijp }

6 x staying overnight in nature

Plantation Rococo: One of the loveliest new hotels surrounded by greenery is Plantage Rococo, where we stayed this summer. We loved it so much that we immediately booked another weekend in the winter. Not only is the hotel beautifully decorated, but you can also enjoy delicious food and wonderful walks in the surrounding area. You'll understand: you'll want to remember this hotel for your next weekend getaway.

Sleeping in the forest: In the morning, you'll wake up to the sound of birdsong, followed by a delicious breakfast. B&B Slapen in het bos is located near Apeldoorn and is beautifully decorated. Too cold to sit outside? Light the wood-burning stove in this home away from home and, on a clear day, gaze at the stars.

the Big Bush: Weekend getaway with friends? Then consider Flinkeboskje, with its vtwonen-worthy interior and regular fun events at the adjacent Flinkefarm. Nestled between two Frisian lakes and surrounded by meadows, you can forget the world around you for a while, and quality time together is all that matters.

Park Broekhuizen: Parc Broekhuizen, a monumental estate dating back to 1792 in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug nature park, is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway with your partner. After a day of hiking and good conversation, settle in at restaurant Voltaire. The menu is created by chef Jacob Jan Boerma, whose former restaurant De Leest earned him an impressive three Michelin stars.

Tiny Houses: Small but mighty! I stayed in a Tiny House at Droompark De Zanding in Otterlo. It's a mini-holiday home, but fully equipped. On the edge of the Veluwe, you can completely unwind here. A nice bonus: in the evenings, you can barbecue at your cottage and sit by the crackling wood fire until late at night.

Camping de Lievelinge: Even if you're not really into camping, Camping de Lievelinge is an exception. A green oasis with a swimming lake and swing carousel in the Lingebos forest near Vuren, where the ultimate bohemian vibe pervades all summer long. Book one of the colorful "rentals," from safari tents to caravans and tepees to converted buses. Tip: booking early is essential!

Country estate Beekhuizen: From mid-August to the end of September, a weekend getaway to Buitenplaats Beekhuizen is highly recommended. This is when the Veluwezoom heather blooms and the landscape around the Posbank turns a magical purple. Stay in a safari tent or pod—your own mini-hotel-room cabin in the woods!
